Lesson everyone should learn from WebNovel's practices: They'll keep testing what's your 'bottom line' and if enough people purchase their crazy schemes, they will assume people support their idea and make it permanent (look at all those "Premium" novels now).
Guess their translators/editors needed A LOT more encouragement by adopting a Patreon-like system via their new Privileged Chapters system. Funny how WebNovel thought it was inappropriate for translation groups to do this via Patreon, proceeded to ban said group/individual, then implement the same exact system with a newly labeled "Privileged" system.
As long as WebNovel gets a cut, it's 100% okay :).
Guys, you know that this is just advance chapters? Normal chapters will be uploaded just like they used to be. Nothing will change. The number of chapters you used to get every day will be the same. The only difference is that you can buy more chapters to read earlier. EARLIER THAN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE UPLOADED. You don't need to buy this to read as you used to. This is only for people who want to read a week in advance or even more. I don't know why are you panicking. No one complains when authors have Patreon and get hundreds of dollars from advance chapters. This is just a way to support authors. Just like Patreon.
Piokilek Eventually this will turn into finally paying to read chapters, not like it's already happening. First everything was free to read, then you had to watch an ad, then you had to pay spirit stones for only a couple novels, then new chapters had you pay spirit stones for you to read more, then every novel had you paying spirit stones, then chapters that used to be free cost spirit stones, so eventually this will probably turn into paying 4 bucks a chapter since it's 20$ per 5 chapters, Oh do you remember when they let you pay 20$ to let every novel that had premium not require spirit stones? That went away fast.
Patreon works are fine since you don't have to pay to read in the first place, WebNovel just keeps upping what you have to pay until they find the bottom line.

extremely misleading Privilege system.
it says it'll unlock chapters to read.
but if you buy it, it only unlocks chapter titles. you have to spend normal amount of SS again to unlock each chapter.
Can someone telle where I can see this privilege.cause I can't seem see it hmmmm
