Every week new novels are released based on our Energy Stone votes.
However there are quite a few "old" stories that have stopped updating (without notice).
Recently the community has compiled a list of such novels in the following thread:
https://forum.webnovel.com/d/40485-list-of-dropped-novels
(OLD: https://forum.webnovel.com/d/25983-a-list-of-dropped-translated-qidian-novels)

Now my question/suggestion/request is:
Is it possible for these neglected novels to be (re)included in the 'What's next?' vote?

A lot of readers would like to see the continuation of these stories over more new content.
We'd rather spent our Energy Stones to get these translations up and running again.
It would be a good way to get new readers interested in these novels as well.

Yeah, instead of keep introducing new translation stort (with the potential that they could also dropped too sometimes later), they should have use the energy stone to pick up old abandoned/dropped translation story because they lost their translator/editor. That way, new translator/editor could just worked on those old/already existing story. They should already have their own reader base.

I'd also like to see this implemented but from what I can deduce, there are a few issues with picking an already translated novel, so often times it's much easier to start translating a new one and unless the dropped novel was really popular, which it probably won't be due to it being dropped, the newer novels will win out. The main issue is that due to the missing translator, the ratings of that story have plummeted and the lower star rating you have, the less popular the novel is going to be. There's also the issue of conflicting terms, the previous translator might have translated one thing, but the other wants to change it, so the mid-story change can be quite jarring and if the novel already has 400 chapters translated, there's no real option of going back and re-translating the whole thing again. I'd also imagine that a better translator might not want to continue a story which contains lower quality translated chapters, but what do I know. I'm pretty sure there are more problems with this than what I can list off the top of my head. I don't have any clever solutions, but I hope that the community can come up with some.

For anything with under 20,000 words translated, you might as well start over. While it's up for voting, just temporarily remove the old chapters from the site. Between 20,000 and 50,000 keep the names the same and translate use your own style. More than that and you might want to transition away from the old style over a few chapters. If the reason the novel was unpopular was poor readability, get an editor to clean everything up.

Oh hey, it looks like they may actually be doing something like this. Apparently Cthulhu gonfalon was previously horribly translated and is getting redone from the start?

I don't know about the other issues, as they would depend on both the old and the new translators, how many chapters have already been completed and the quality of previous work. But this rating issue can be fixed by a reset. Treat the newly voted novel with it's new translator simply as "new" and start with a clean slate. In the same spirit I'd expect all reviews that have to do with slow update speed (and/or poor translation quality) to be deleted. You can't punish the new translator for what happened in the past and the initial mess (s)he might have to deal with to get things running smoothly (again).

Belkar I agree. Just reset the rating and keep the top comments that do not have to do with translation issues. And make sure to re-translate the sections that are not translated well.

@CKtalon @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL @Webnovel_Staff What happened to Dreadful Radio Game?

Actually, Just really want to say: Why is Webnovel very much focusing on the same type of stories? There are so many good stories far better than reincarnation/transmigrated into trash body and then... rise up again and that romance one- mother hating her own daughter and loving other. Tsk. so cringy

We need more stories similar to Murder the dream guy, thriller paradise, dreadful radio game, Lord of the mysteries, crazy detective, Trafford Trading Club and so on.

I hope this gets implemented.. There are a lot of good dropped novels in here and loyal readers who keeps on checking if there is news somehow with these novels cause some of them gets dropped without any notice and that's the most frustrating of all😭

SilverSoul1104 I agree. Or they had a bad translator and got fired by WN/QI and never got a new translator. Or just had a lazy translator who just went missing and never came back. These are the most common things I have seen on LNs. The ones I have seen with bad translators had many people leaving reviews about dropping the LN because of bad translation not bad story.
