natto why you want monster paradise on premium. From what I get you will receive the same amount of chapters per week, you would just have to pay for half of them while now you read them all for free. Why do you want to pay if you have them free now. The current pace is 14/w, if it goes premium it will stay on 14/w, but you would only have 7/w free...
Premium Vs Patreon
If you want more chapters from the translators you like then you need to donate to their patreon, since most translations have goals to increase chapters per week. The premium system is not going to do that as people think it will, most of the money goes directly to Qidian, and they won't use that money to improve the quality of the translations on this platform. As you can already see, the premium webnovels that were chosen are atrocious. Especially the MMO one. So if you want to read ahead and have your money directly support the translator and at the long run increase the amount of chapters you get, then patreon is the obvious choice. But do NOT buy spirit stones and DO NOT! support these low quality garbage translations that they put on the premium system! If they see people are willing to pay money to read that rubbish, then they won't even try to improve the quality of translators and will get keep getting more of the same crap we are already used to from the free days.
natto Correct me if I am wrong, but of all the novels on premium now, the weekly rate stayed the same, the only thing that changed was the amount of chapter you read for free. It used to be 3/day free on immortal mortal, now it's less.
The same happened with mmorpg, now you have less chapters you can read, so why do you want to pay for something you have free.
natto You will get to read 10 chapters ahead, and then you will wait a week or however long it takes to read a new chapter. Would you rather read one chapter a day or 10 chapters in one day and then wait for new chapters.
Lomacris Yes. Now you have less than half the chapters per week as you had before, so if you want to read all the weekly chapters, you would need to pay a lot of money.

Miya no... the complaint come because the stone increase is too much... before system change... 4 stones to current 18 stones(highest i have seen)... this mean sudden 4.5 times increase... IRL you will also yell if thing you usually bought increase multifold in price in a fortnight...
In my opinion... QI should have use 4 stone for BETA price... or at least capped at 9 stones (people freak out when see 2 digit stones)... this is to let people integrate first with new system... and then slowly evaluate and raise stone until it reach balance between reader demand and translator / QI needs... this way most people will accept it better than this current method...
This is like suddenly got bitten by lion... of course you will run... but if you are bitten by small leech... you will not even realize it... until it suck lots of your blood...

Positive_Lullaby And that is the the difference between patreon and premium. In patreon, us free readers could enjoy the full content released, while the ones that supported could read ahead. With premium the guys that support will read what they read previously for free, while the free readers will have to aucknit up and read less. This change will lower the traffic they get on their website because free readers won't come as frequently to check for updates, so in the long run I don't know which will be more generic
Tl;dr
Us free readers got dumped on with the premium, and the people paying are paying for an illusion that they are reading ahead while.they are just reading the same they read before4
Well, I know some translation (staff teams) make upwards of $30,000 USD per month. And they split it between 4 people. Then they pump out 15 weekly chapters per week. And once a month they'll dump 50 bonus chapters (because they're making so much cash in patreon). - Those LN's have over 100,000 supporting them (and read there chapters every day. So basically if a book has a huge enough fan base, even if it's just $1 USD per month (with 30% of the people donating), there's a huge market to rush out chapters.
However, I've seen those same teams have a basic mental break after a yearish or so. (They basically burn themselves out really quick) - So major depression is a big kick in the balls with that much pressure to pump out chapters.
Like one example, a small 2 man translation team was making $3,000 a month (50$ per chapter early release). And finished a short story (350ish chapter LN that was amazing - in maybe 3-4 months time). Felt bad because they literally quit translating after that book. Hahaha.
DarkImmortal_Intel What novel was it?
Positive_Lullaby I just want to support them too. I can't just read for free for ever.
Of course if it don't expensive like Patreon.
natto Yeah hahahaXD atleast they let us read other novels for free
Hyper_pumpkin not for much longer
Lomacris KILL JOY xD
Self control is needed no matter what. Just don't spend money you don't have on something like this. Go to library to get some kicks while waiting for em to be available will do.
