What does it actually mean to win a contract with webnovel? How much do they pey you in actuality?

When you get the contract, you are allowed to lock ypur chapters behind the paywall. The cost of chapter is calculated this way:
Your chapter has x words. Every 200 words increase the cost of chapter by 1 spirit stone. 1-200 words means 1 ss, 201-400 words means 2 ss and so on.
Afaik - every ss has a worth of 0.02$.
So if you write a chapter with 1k words (5ss) and 1000 people spend PAID ss to unlock it, you get 0.02x5x1000=100$ of worth. Webnovel takes half of the earnings, so author ends up with 50$.

Nasu Translators are usually working with a flat rate. They are paid a fixed amount of money per chapter they translated. I think they also get some part of the earnings received from gifting option, if it's included in the contract.

There are some translators that signed a royalty contract (the one where you split your earning with WN as described by MotivatedSloth above), just like original authors, but afaik, not many.

After you got contracted. For the first four months, they give you money based on how much you wrote that month so After you got contracted and locked your chapters. For the first four-month 200$/40.000 Words 300$/60.000 Words. 400$ / 80.000 words.

BornToDreem No one really knows since they won’t tell you. Some say the pay is really not worth it
I also wonder how a top 10 novel earns monthly?

I think 400$ a month is barely enough for a part time job?
