TomRiffle101 at first I thought it was for fan fictions but since Don's novel has no ads I honestly have no clue how they choose who has pop up ads and who doesn't... What is clear to me now is that when you download a novel that has them enabled you are actually also downloading ads directly into you phone! 🤨

    Hi,
I am new to this app, but what is the deal with having to unlock chapters? I mean some chapters cost 15 ss or whatever they call but it doesn’t look like you can earn them easily. Is this app more geared to making money and forcing you to buy chapters, or do the chapters eventually unlock over so many days like as in an “update?” Sorry I just want to know ahead of time so I can just go back to Mangarock and Mangazone apps that doesn’t require you buying chapters.

Kiyomi09 So you essentially want translators and writers to work for free. Okay...

Kiyomi09 The cost of unlocked/premium chapter depends on how many word it has. The lesser the words, the cheaper the cost for ss(this is for novel). As for comic, I don't know how it works but I think it depends on how many page it has for the price of ss.

And no, you can still unlock chap with free ss but author only get money from paid ss. Nothing is forcing you to buy chapter such as getting privilages. And do you know the place where you read it for 'free' is actually a pirate site? The translator and author need money to paid for their food. They don't work for free for you and everyone else.

As I said, nothing is forcing you to buy chapters. you can simply unlock it with free ss at no cost whatsoever. They only get paid from paid ss, not free ss.

Kiyomi09 This is an official publisher for translated Chinese and Korean web novels as well as original English works. Using SS here is sorta equivalent to purchasing a hard-cover book from a Barnes and Noble (I won't compare to Amazon Kindle due to pricing differences). Getting these novels on other sites is like reading your friend's overdue library book that they never intend to return because they wanted to make their own library by stealing books from a real library.

Dont have adds. I think by region it is. Im at UK.

MinxMean Basically writers get paid USD $0.01 for every 100 words, so a 2,000-word chapter would be 20 cents (USD). 1 Spirit Stone is about 2 cents, so a 2,000-word chapter will cost about 10 Spirit Stones (and 20 cents).

Hakkira I haven't had any pop-up ads and I've been able to get the multiplier 99% of the time on data and 10% of the time on Wi-Fi. So they're probably using cell tower location for the multiplier ads. I'm in the NE US if that helps.
Which novels do you get the ads on? Are they at a certain power stone rank?

KoraL rank 34 fanfiction reincarnated as Tony Stark is one but it mainly seems to be fan fictions. The nnoying thing is that I can see no pattern as a harry potter fic used to have ads and now doesn't. It seems random... Very odd! 🤨

Hakkira I just started getting ads today so update difference. Wish I had know and not updated

At this point in time I am just hoping someone can explain why they appeared in certain novels and not others and for web novel to announce their new and fantastic subscription/privilege level that gets rid of them. Remember guys that these small changes tend to eventually become something that snowballs so if nothing is said against it now then expect many more intrusive ads in your novels in the near future...

Okay this is getting ridiculous as in one chapter of a novel I had 4 pop up ads that blocked the page with one of them actually crashing the chapter to go back to the beginning... Really Webnovel what benefit do these forced ads do for you other than push people to use other apps that have your novels? These ads make certain stories Un readable as how am I going to read a 30 chapter plus new story if to do so I have to view atleast 60-120 ads?!? On a pc I don't mind ads as they don't force me to stop reading but on this app the ad takes the whole page... Don't know why I bother posting here tbh as since it doesn't affect the most popular novels and only seems to affect Android users no one really seems to care. I don't mind paying a small subscription fee to support the app and authors to not have ads but you don't give that and have just added these ads randomly with no notice or explanation that I can see.

My dear colleagues, do not be naive! Webnovel is the name of a famous mercenary group, so unless they become dishonored they will not stop seeking money either from ads or any other kind of advertising. Do you want to resist these bastards ?! So stop complaining and go fight !!! Download Lucky Patcher on your mobile phone and apply the removal of ads in the Webnovel application. Unlike this post, this will solve your problem, buddy.

So far, I haven't had that problem. Will keep an eye out for these dastardly invasive pop up ads.

RiverLilac I have never encountered ads on chapters either, but have seen some posts from others about it. Since it only seems to occur to a selected group of readers or selected group of novels, I'm suspecting WN is testing something new...

                              uBlock Origin + NoScript -- I didn't even know there were ads. If the ads still appear, you can just block the element with uBlock;
Right click --> "Block Element" --> Select the ad --> Create
                              Also, I'm on firefox.
