Cantiara may be I am wrong, apologies in advance, but you do realise that reading complete premium books here collectively costs minimum of 100USD or above depending on chapter cost and number of chapters. Let's assume the paperback of the same book is available (though most aren't) would it sell for $100/$200? When one pays a small amount as installments one doesn't realise how much collectively it's costing. Few books deserve that kind of pricing.

      Since you want to compare a paperback and a webnovel: An average complete paperback contains around 70k-100k words. A complete webnovel contains a range of 400k - 3 million words.

      You can do the math.

          Even with a hundred chapter free and at 5-8 coin/chapter that's still worth 3500 - 5648. Currently 2500 coins = 50€.
          So you'd have to pay a total of 70 to 113€ to buy the novel.

          So we're paying 3 times retail price.

              Chrisco you are not getting coins for reading even though its mentioned as coins. They are concerted to points which are added in your store page. So ultimately you have only 3 fast pass on a daily basis.

                  on the 24 of dec.. they have an xmas bonus on my top-up.. i'll wait what that is but for sure, i'll now be spending so little time here because im already searching for some alternative apps. still can't let go yet as im reading some original novels

                  Fortigan you have a point but still this is unfair, some of the novels i follow just cost around 3ss a chapter while some costs around 10ss up, using fast pass for a chapter that i would read for a few seconds seem too much. A lot of novels would be dropped this way.

                    PapaReaper Very true. It’s pricey and almost all the novels are incomplete on several thousands of chapters, which is super expensive when tallied up. I calculated 1 of my novels to cost US$400 if I paid for every chapter! Qidian is cheap and affordable in China because they have the market numbers to support it and because of cheap labour. To translate a chapter is costly for them as you need to pay translator and also probably an editor and not at China labour rates.

                          They have basically removed our ability to stockpile SS or coins. We’re limited to fast passes, which must be used within the day, and which enables us to read (free) only 4-7 chapters a day. EDIT: it’s 7 days.

                          As for buying coins... until I see fewer complaints regarding glitches, I will wait and see....

                                Ice_Angel I don't think so bcz I just finished some minutes which would give me 10 coins as per the old arrangements but I didn't get that in real nor did I saw any points section in my profile so I don't know where those points goes or even if I really got those or not
