I have never had tea in my entire life. I am proud ov myself.

Tea
Had some confectionaries delivered as a birthday treat. A caramel blueberry minicake, a raspberry pistachio dacquoise, a chocolate fudge cake, and an earl grey blueberry macaron. Paired them with black tea. It was nice.
I haven’t had much tea lately due to waking up without an alarm clock. With the CV crisis, I’m just lazying at home for the most part. Caffeine is no longer needed to wake up and go out of the house. Yet I still drink tea when I get up; however, not at night anymore.
I want sweets. I want tea and sweets. I wish to stop suffering like a busy chicken with my head chopped off. I want to isekai into some noble magical fantasy where I'm filthy rich & enjoy tea & sweets daily.
(Don't mind me- I'm just currently a heath industry worker during this time so my day job is at the minimum 3x busier)
I ran out of my korean grain latte at the office without realizing it- bc we're that busy.
Today is Lychee black chinese tea that was imported a hella long time ago from my dad. Extra strong with a hint of tropical lychee. Let's power through! If it gets bad again I'll have more coffee- especially Vietnamese coffee. That's the real stuff there.
I've had Vietnamese coffee and beignets like 3x this week- that's the fuel we're using to see all the panicking but not sick patients.
Don't know what the hell is a bubble tea. In my country we usually drink black (red in Chinese) or green tea, with milk or sugar. For me, the best recipe is coarse boiled green tea with milk, butter and crushed fried barley/wheat grains.
My sister ordered an iced black tea latte topped with nata de coco today. And she said I’m the weird one...
Weird taste. Not unpleasant, but not exactly a good combination.
Life update that nobody asked for: feeling sick and slightly feverish today. Took some meds already. Ugh.
This might be too late and too sudden to mention, but seeing how this thread had grown so much, it really showed me how much of a tea pleb I was. And I dared to call myself a tea-lover—the audacity!
Haha, all jokes aside, I’ve learned a lot more about the wonderful world of Tea through everyone in this thread, and I hope everyone will continue to share your love for tea here! Do share about your tea of the day, your scrumptious foodstuffs to match your teas, and other tea-related anecdotes here~
PS: only literal tea should be discussed in this thread~ no figurative ‘tea’ is allowed~
OOOOOH YA'LL IM HERE TO SPILL DAT TEEEEAAAA
Seriously though I'm pretty clumsy and as experienced as I get in tea brewing I often spill from the pot where the lid meets pot esp with traditional little pots.
And Chinese restaurant pots are always too full/overflowing so when it's fresh and hot I miss and pout not perfectly in the cup but onto the table cloth.
I feel like that early scene in Mulan all the time- pouring tea and it's just.....yeah. Dishonor on me.
CCmei Gasp! Dishonour on you, you tea-spiller! How dare you waste tea! >:c
I know my shame.
Dishonor on me. Dishonor on my family. Dishonor on my cow.
If it didn't go against the teachings of my great Tea Lord and Savior- Master Iroh, I would go hunt down the Avatar to reclaim my lost honor.
ihateyounot Aaaawww, I want to try! Can you describe the earl grey macaroons flavour? I have to stay at home because of the covid virus shenanigans, so I decided to spend most of my time in the kitchen developing new recipes. Hehe
ihateyounot drink ginger tea to make you feel better. get well soon!
ihateyounot What is “figurative” tea? My friend just got back from Japan and she brought me matcha ViA and cookies set from sbux. Not a huge fan of this matcha VIA but I appreciate her kind gesture. Haha Sakura season has started in Japan, looks like I won’t be able to see cherry blossoms this year
Ugh, I want my sakura mochi.. can someone send some for me please?

cereus17 From what I remember, it tasted sweet, with an almost floral taste despite being made with blueberries. The macaron shells were made with earl grey leaves and a hint of vanilla (beans), and it was layered with a blueberry puree in between. It was almost like eating sweet, edible perfume—all I could taste was sweetness, really, but I did enjoy it still.
cereus17 figurative tea is basically gossip or scandal or some sort of personal information on someone that will affect one’s reputation. It’s a term made popular through discord or drama between online celebrities... most commonly seen in the YouTube community.

That sounds nice~ I’m jealous -3-

I had some from a local Japanese restaurant a while back. I would love to share it but it’s all in my stomach now heh heh it was yummy
Where are my tea hoes.
I'm just not on- Covid-19 has me running like a chicken with it's head cut off bc I'm a frontline worker- never should have went into health. N-95 masks leave marks on your face AND YOU CANT DRINK TEA while wearing them. They are not easy to pull off.
Anyways I would like to type an ode to all the tea shops that are still open, providing me sugar, calories and sweet sweet amazing pick me up teas/drinks.
My current favorite is a Wintermelon salted kumquat tea with crystal boba. A tangy refreshing drink that feels but healthy but delicious.
CCmei oof! Thank you for your hard work! I hope you stay safe and healthy. You’re a hero who deserves all the good tea in the world.
ihateyounot My favorite tea is ginger, brewed from crushed fresh ginger root with honey. Mmmmm.
T_T TTTTTTtttttttttteeeeeeeeeeaaa. Stay safe and healthy everyone- right now we're encouraging you all to drink plenty of vitamin C and keep your immune system up.
