  • Why I'm getting less views in writing the novel ?

Veronica8 I hope I can keep the routine, but who knows what will happen. My goal right now is promoting my novels after a year of having barely any views. As long as someone is willing to read my works, I'm happy.
I love to draw also, but that hobby takes up too much time in an already timeless life. I turned to writing although progress is slow and I know exposure is going to help me write better. That's going to be fun.

Avalondra If they're truly male, I would squeal in delight. Fantasy romance usually include epic creatures and fights, perhaps they could be looking for those elements? Still, really cool to see males reading what is typically for females.

ValKree funnily enough, I'm currently in the "CEO Romance" arc of the novel. One of my reviewers said I did voodoo to make them like a romance, so I'll take it XD

ValKree yeah. like how females read cultivations with male MC to look for interesting plots and exciting fights. Got cha! ;)

That's cool you can draw. Writing can be a happy medium for art I guess.

    I cheat with digital stuff.

Is that stranger than a male trying to write fantasy romance? I tried to change things up a bit in the 2nd volume of my transmigration novel. It's nowhere near full blown romance, but I definitely start bringing the ship (and the drama). Would love input to see how well I pull it off.

And here this male writes teen romance. For rather obvious reasons I also consume copious amounts of similar romance anime and manga, or else I wouldn't be able to play around with the tropes.

Veronica8 writing is definitely art. Painting pictures with words is what I strive for every time I tap a key. Then, everyone can be an artist as they read my works. ๐Ÿ˜
I'm not sure I know what cheating with digital stuff means. Care to explain?

kazesenken It's not strange at all, I grew up with males avoiding books with any romance so I am amazed when males outside of my life read and write romance books! I become giddy whenever males read or write hardcore romance books, but not full blown romances are cool too because it's still romance, an interpretation of relationships. Males and females seem to write romances differently, but I like reading from both. I would love to take a look at yours, however, final examinations are coming up. I'll probably see when life slows down during a school break. I'm sure it's going well though, romance is a flexible genre. ๐Ÿ’™

StenDuring nice! I write hardcore romances just because I'm a secret romantic and well, an emotional female with little experience with love. It's great that you're willing to take on the tough task of writing romance for teens. I write romance and action books, but on totally opposite ends. Writing romance makes me feel warm and fuzzy while writing action gives me an adrenaline rush. I hope to read your book one day.๐Ÿ’™

Mix and match pictures together in photoshop. I use CGI software for people. I can't draw humans. It's a skill I can't grasp. I do my covers because I'm too poor to pay for pros. Even though pros can do better. If I do one that isn't an eyesore. That's a win.

Veronica8 I would not consider that as cheating with digital stuff, but that is just an opinion coming from an unprofessional cover maker. As long as a creator has some ability to make appealing covers using pictures and CGI, I say go for it! (Much better than plain covers with title and author's name, no shade towards those ones though).
I thought I would draw my own covers, however, that would be too much cringe for readers to handle before they even start my novels. So, I'm on the same boat with you and many other writers, but I'm definitely not skilled with editing photos. I don't even use photoshop, but simple editing apps I randomly test during free time at school. Between us, I'd say you're the more 'professional' cover creator as I started editing stuff a month ago?
If I checked out the right novel, the cover on your book is what I would do if I had better tools. Does not sore the eyes at all, so that's a win?

ValKree no shade ๐Ÿ˜Ž Thanks. I try my best, but never know the results until it's put out there.

It's all good fun. I enjoy making covers. I'm not as good as Yueyi and others. For me it's like coloring in books, it calms me down at times. I kind of feel double proud that my cover is on my writing. Even if it might look like a bleh cover ๐Ÿ˜ We're all different shades of artists.

Lol, I had my first novel completely flop, with like 60 chapters but only 20k views, and I ended up giving up on it.
Then, I tried a new genre, apocalypse, and it blew up surprisingly. got up to the top 9 in martial arts tag for ongoing original works, which was pretty big for me. Now it has like a million views and like 120 chapters.
Unfortunately, I am not John Wick and lack commitment. I began reading other novels, and I forgot the name of the novel, but I started reading a certain novel, which made me immediately spot the stupid plot holes in my novel, and I kinda gave up on that.
Since then, I have written about 5 other novels, with varying success. Some of them I wrote 20 chapters and after about a year, it only had 40k views, while others were a lot more successful, with around 90 chapters and almost 900k views. Well, my latest novel has started doff incredibly slow. I was at 1.5k views at my second chapter, and after 2 whole days of my 3rd chap being released, I'm still at 1.6k views. No clue if it is a glitch or my story is actually shit, but from what I have experienced, everything takes time. If you can get to 20 chapters, yours views will start increasing. Once you get to 80 chapters, the views will become like a constant stream. With every chapter you release, more people will begin reading your older chapters. so I shall wait, and hope all writers here can also have patience and persevere

Before you start copying a Da Vinci check whether or not you could draw an apple, sketch a face or a tree.
You start with the beginning and the beginning for a writer is a solid, grammatically correct sentence and rich vocabulary. If you are not a native speaker, you should read massivelyโ€ฆ and you should read quality books before attempting to write your own. Good luck
