Why are all the female lead stories about romance on this website. Fuck that where are the feminists who will do something about it.
Female lead
What kind of stories are you looking for?

BrianG9677 Try Doomsday Wonderland. There's also It's Not Easy to be a Man After Traveling to the Future, but that novel will hit hiatus soon. Non-romance female led stories exist, but they tend to be miscategorized. Also, Webnovel's characterization system has been very flawed, so please try to look beyond it.

thetinman well, that may be a contributing factor, but it doesn't help when authors were only allowed to tag female lead novels as Romance-subcategory even if it's Thriller-Action-Tragedy with a kickass female lead. Heck, a female lead only survivor after the apocalypse novel would need to be tagged romance. I suppose their romance is with their survival toolkit?
At least that had changed very recently, but most novels would not have been recategorized in that time.
BrianG9677 No, they are not? I'm currently writing a female lead story, and it's fantasy but not romance. I agree, just because the lead is female, that doesn't mean it has to be romance. You want to have a go? It's called I'm Anna, I will give you a link here, if you don't want to search. Although, I must say writing a female mc as a man... it's not easy :D
BrianG9677 you did not check many stories that are female lead without romance
They might be in the male section due to the previous labeling system. A lot of authors and works with FL literally could not be labeled FL without the romance.
Earlier the FL section was just a romance section. Blame WN and their parent company/sexist standards (from the Chinese platform I think?)
BrianG9677 Try Power couple novels. Here is a good example. https://www.webnovel.com/book/16087359006969905/Ryan-Morgan%3A-Love-Contract

I AM NEW HERE, ANYONE CARE TO GIVE ME A TOUR?
BrianG9677 They arenβt. Webnovel just insists on categorizing them that way.
I think it actually has to do with what is most read on Webnovel. Webnovel really seems to be focused on Light Novels, the Asian type. Now, do not get me wrong. There are a lot of kickass Japanese novels that describe the lives of heroines without any reference whatsoever to romantic relationships. However, when I think about Chinese YY novels, I really cannot think of one that was purely about the female character's life without any reference to romance. And Webnovel does have a very strong Chinese feel (I don't know where Webnovel's headquarters may be, but I would go with Indonesia, maybe).
All their premium novels marketed towards women follow the Chinese tropes of what makes a good girls' YY novel. What female readers of Webnovel want to read in great numbers seems to be romance. Often, with an easy plot (I am not looking down on anything; I love myself an easy plot more often than not). So of course, that is what Webnovel will try to market itself as: a source of heart-warming, fun, easy romance stories to read real quick without breaking your brain.
It all comes to choosing your platform. Each webnovel platform has its own specialty in a way. Asian-inspired novels are your cup of tea? You would come to Webnovel. You are looking for LGBTQ+/BL/GL (GL in a much smaller proportion)? You go to Tapas. And Wattpad β¦ I don't know what Wattpad's specialty is, but they must have one.
LostInFictions i enjoy reincarnated reborn storys where mc is in another world
Novels where they have a system, use alchemy or weapon creation
Every single time i read a novel with these characteristics with a female mc it develops into 2 ways 1 the female mc chasing after male mc and 2 the female mc hates male mc who chases her then she becomes stupid and pursues him or accepts him but makes stupid decisions
When i read male mc novels its always male mc has harem makes dumb decisions but it still more often than not doesnt ruin the story
DarkRay Haha!! You're recommending your own novel, nice Master Ray!! I salute you, your teaching was quite valuable Master Ray!!
Oh, oh! Why don't you check out "Love at First Bite"? Though the title is misleading and the book is still taking its baby steps, the romance is only going to have a mild introduction in the later part of the story. It mainly centers around Drama, Comedy, Action and Mystery.
