Thankyou for the encouragement :) my novel is going in a good pace write now. :)
Affirmation for today.
My writing is a failure. Failure is practically my second name. To me, this isn't a bad thing. I see my writing as future opportunities. If my writing doesn't meet the now, it might be for the future.
Every try is a opening to an opportunity.
Keep Going! A week may seem like barely a dent, but stick to a routine that's fun and achievable.
YOU CAN DO IT!
Believe it or not, I'm a depressed writer. I have to constantly fight through self doubt and fears whenever I write into my stories. It's why I'm known for the quote of today. "Rejection is a Challenge".
Why is this a motivation?
Lemme give you a back story. About a few years back, I felt cocky to pitch one of my fantasy sagas to a traditional publisher, after I had placed in a review contest that a Lit Agency ran. Something similar to https://twitter.com/ReviseResub.
Rather than get a chance and foot in the door, I faced rejection after rejection. Spending an exorbitant amount of money just to receive a "no thanks" or nothing at all. When I finally received that one acceptance with a well known trad house, I faced rejection again upon editor handover. I was a mess at this point. I gave up my story back then.
But I didn't give up on writing itself.
When my emotions and head had cleared, I had recognized the valuable lessons from my experience, which fueled my motivation to continue pursing my author ambitions.
The important meaning of this message is to not surrender your dreams to rejection, self doubt and fear. Instead, see rejection as a challenge to grow from and overcome.
YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT!
You've made it through a Spirity week!
Nice work. Give yourself a pat on the back and some party time!
Veronica8 thanks for this thread! It's really encouraging :D
Entering into the Silent Fray. Stay focused!
For a majority of writers on this site, this is the start of new test for writer. The silence. It's understandable that a lot of writers won't have the time to actively promote whilst writing to finish in the contest window.
Motivation for today: stay focused through the silence
Don't let zero or small readership block you from writing your story. Consider it as something else to work on.
Balance your time to write with promoting. Promotion is just as much of a grueling task as penning the chapters. It takes as much focus, planning and strategy to ethically attract one reader. So that should be a focus for one day. Then writing another day focus.
Writing and promoting are two sides of the same coin. Balanced and done right, will eventually see your story progress and gain regular readers. Breaking your book page out of its silent prison with support for the finish.
This threat is sweet although I have no idea what's going on. Good luck everyone!
Obviously confused, throws pompoms and confetti around
ValKree Haha. It's for the Webnovel long running writing contest. I was hoping I could provide some motivation to those entering. Cheer on writers for the finish. Cause 6 months is a long time for commitment.
Think of it like Webnovel's Watty. This thread is a motivation for it.
Give yourself a pat on the back whenever you reach the end of a chapter, milestone in the story, massive progress...
You deserve to give yourself a pat on the back.
By now you should have a rough idea of what you want to write, and writing away. Keeping going. Remember to take your breaks when needed, but don't stop the momentum you've got going.
You can do it! Keep at it!
Chase out the doubts. Turn the 'T" in can't to Triumph.
Recap and relax for a moment. You've been doing updates daily, doesn't hurt to take a breather and revise before entering into another new block of the story.
Keep it up. You're doing good.
Writing is a lone task. It doesn't have to be a lonely journey. There's always someone who's willing to root for your success and achievement.
Chillax. Take a load off. Or get pumped to do a writing weekend marathon. Either way...
Mindset and mental health is especially important during a writing contest/challenge. Writing is mentally taxing. Spirity is a marathon for the mind.
Take care of yourself. Find a way to balance yourself with your writing and aim to make every day as great as it can be.
You can do it!
It’s hard work writing as a marathon. I guess all we can do is be sure to move forward without stopping, even if it’s slow going.
