  • When a user posts advertisements for other sites/products/services in other threads.

    • Only posts outside of the monthly self-promo/review swap thread (pinned) will be counted.
    • Unsolicited novel links count.
    • Promotion/review swaps that are presented in a unique manner/game are excused.

Why is self-promo/review swap forbidden outside of the monthly thread?

    • It spams the forum and buries actual, meaningful threads.
    • It's generally annoying for people to have their threads cluttered with people who just randomly throw their novel link at every thread they see.
    • Promotion on the forum doesn't actually get you many readers/it's not as effective as people make it seem.

    More Severe Consequences

    • Users who continue to self-promote/review swap despite receiving a warning will have their account temporarily suspended. (Repeated offense = 7 days > 21 days > 30 days > Permanent Suspension)

      Necro'd Threads

      Action taken: Thread Lock.
      User Warning.

      What constitutes a "necro'd" thread?

      • Usually, threads that have not had activity since 1 month (or longer) ago.
      • Threads get locked because the content of that thread is outdated. However, if it's still relevant, it won't be.
      • If a user makes an argument for why the thread shouldn't be locked, they can contact @yaoyueyi in the Welcome Thread.

      Why are these threads locked?

      • Most times, old threads like these are filled with inactive users or irrelevant content.
      • Making a new, fresh thread is a better alternative.

      More Severe Consequences

      • If a user is still necro-ing threads after being given warned, they may be issued a temporary suspension.
      • If a user spams the forum with numerous necro'd threads (5 or more), they will be temporarily suspended without a warning.

        • The intention of these posts is to harm others.
        • It should be noted that criticism is different than insults.

        Why are insults/flame posts bad?

        • It's against the forum guidelines.
        • It adds to the toxicity. We want to improve the environment of the forum, not to destroy it.
        • This really shouldn't be a question either.

        More Severe Consequences

        • If a user continuously insults another user, they will be temporarily suspended (# of days depending on level of offense).
        • A permanent suspension can occur if this user is reported many times.

          • Repeated offense after warning will lead to a temporary (to permanent) suspension of said user.

            Incorrect Tags

            Action taken: Tag Edit.

What constitutes an incorrectly tagged thread?

            • Self-explanatory.
            • e.g. If it's not a bug, and you tag it with a Report Bugs tag, that's incorrect.

Why shouldn't threads be incorrectly tagged?

            • It messes up with the organization of the forum.
            • Non-Bug Report Bugs threads make it more difficult for the developers to find actual bug reports.
            • Similarly, it messes up the experience of users who want to look within a specific tag.

            More Severe Consequences

            • Not sure if there really are more severe consequences, but if a user purposefully tags all their threads with as many tags as they can, they will be warned.
            • You shouldn't tag your threads incorrectly since it will invoke Yue-Bot's wrath.

Why shouldn't users share their invites?

              • Invite Links/Codes only work with completely new users who submit their code within 7 days of registering. Most users on the forum are past one week.
              • It's kind of like spam. These threads bury useful posts.

              More Severe Consequences

              • If users post their invite link repeatedly, they will be warned.
              • If they continue after being warned, they will have a temporary (to permanent) suspension, depending on the number of offenses.
