Pleasedeteme nah.. it's .. let's just say that i'm not a fan of big boobs

For the world god only know... The MC conquering the girl is not for the sake of building a harem, but, to save his life from death and unconditionally, save the world.

I like the world god only know because... It doesn't have too many echhi scene and not one of the main focus of the story. While Issei... Is a boob lovers. Which.. i'm not a big fan of.

But, i'm not saying the anime is bad.. i watched some clips of the anime and it has a good plot, story and action.. but, it still not my taste.

And yeah ... I don't like reverse harem to..
Because, most of the stories I've read has all the male leads force themselves on the girl.
The girl can be stupid too most of the time.(not always.. just, most of the time.)

There are some good stories too.. like kiss him not me. And also, Bakarina.

Pleasedeteme meh... I am flat chested. But, I don't really care. My ideal of a girl is a tall girl that don't have big chest. I like to wear baggy clothes so, it doesn't really matter what type of chest I have. The smaller the better.

Pleasedeteme Well...It's not about having many girl or boy that likes the MC , that I love watching harem anime.

It's about how the male MC treats the girl around him and how male leads treat female MC.

For Male MC, he is not dense. Being dense is fine, but there's a limit to how much of a dense he is. Overly dense is stupid. He treats the girl right. So what if he is a pervert?? As long he respects the girl and dont abused her, I'm fine with it. Also, for the plot. Some of the story with harem is really good. I think, i remember this anime but i don't remember the title. This MC is cool guy that everybody like. Perfect. But, he doesn't really show emotion on his face. Even if many girl, showing their perverted side or violence side.. the mc doesn't mind. But, when that girls are facing a problem.. he will help them. His resolve is to never let any girl cry because of him. He knew that all the girl around him love him. But, he also make it clear that he is not interested. Apparently, all the girl that like him has a dark past. And the ML helps all the girl to overcome their past.

For female MC. What I like is that, for the Male leads to stop forcing themselves on FL. Like this vampire story where all the vampires goes crazy for FL because her blood is delicious. And FL just went.. sob sob non stop. Then.. she feels confused about which male to choose. And then.. bla bla bla.

    Pleasedeteme yeah!! True that!!!

It's not that I hate on harem or reverse harem. It just, sometime i hate it for the overused plot.( In visual novel ) Sometime i hate it about how they treated each other..( like ML abused the girl at first, then when the ML being kind.. FL feel thankful( despite the caused of the problem is from ML himself) If it were me... I would feel vengeful and tried to kill them in their sleep(depends by how bad they treated me before.)

And.. for ML, i just don't like it about how sometime, ML is being labeled as pervert despite everything is the girls fault and despite everything was an accident. Also, the part when ML or even FL forced their partner into sex.

Pleasedeteme Actually you seem to have one misconception on reverse harem... Harem is mostly sexual, whereas reverse harem is romance (meaning sexual acts, unless a pornographic work, are limited or nonexistent, and the males just have feelings and long for the one female. Not trying to jump into her skirt). That's why it differs from real life and the males don't care about the sharing, since it never really gets to that point (jealousy occurs, but that's normal). In normal works, I've never actually seen a 'reverse harem' where the female is in an actual relationship with the multiple males. Usually a choice is made for one person, or not at all. I don't know why harem is so inappropriate and widely accepted, but reverse harem is discriminated against to the point the authors are afraid to go through with it to the finish. Well, neither are good or bad. Just wish they had equal standing

Pleasedeteme You didn't offend me, just like I meant no ill-will either. I said that I believe neither are good nor bad, since it can turn out in different ways depending on the author. If you're talking about real life, I agree reverse harem isn't doable, but in fiction it should be. No, I don't play otome games nor will I ever (I also don't think they should count here because it's a game and you can't say any of it is canon, either). Everything I said was based on my experience of reading /watching hundreds different types of works. There are exceptions and I can name a few, but it wouldn't even make up 1% of the overall amount. Whereas 99% of harem works I've seen end up either inappropriate and/or the male always staying with multiple females (and maybe adding more continuously). Though most harem works I've come across are only Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. Since every culture is different, maybe if it came elsewhere there'd be more surprise. But I've gotten around and have seen it from numerous examples, so I don't know where others are finding the exceptions (on here?). I'm not biased since I like both, but it's easier for a female to get into a female protagonist with multiple love interests than the opposite. I just wish there were more, since I'm constantly longing for works that don't exist (like 2nd male leads winning or certain settings)
Sorry that this was lengthy.. Thanks for putting up with it

Isekai (Japanese: 異世界, transl. "different world") is a genre of Japanese light novels, manga, anime, and video games that revolve around a normal person from Earth being transported to, reborn, or trapped in a parallel universe, fantasy world or virtual world.

Why such a long post for such a simple thing?

YulongYuXianTaiyin I doubt that you have, because most of the shoujo manga I read feature a single girl (usually "plain") having a bunch of handsome guys fall for her. Fruits Basket, for example. Ouran High School Club (I think). Chihaya Furu, though not as blatant, has 2-3 guys liking Chihaya (mostly 2, since Sudo is...weird). Hiiro no Kakera?

Tomoyuki I originally said how harem is usually more sexual while reverse harem is more romance-centric, and how it almost always (unless pornographic) will be love interests that just revolve around female protagonist, but won't end up with her. Usually it'll end up either nobody getting picked, or just one (monogamy that defeats the purpose). Harem has the guy get all the girls in every case I've seen. This was what I was referring to when I said, based on experience, I rarely see reverse harem works going all the way through to the end. Those anime/manga you mentioned, don't you remember how they ended? I'm saying reverse harem is never a true harem unlike male oriented ones, and this (to me) is discriminating

Pleasedeteme Wow... what a long monologue!

'Inappropriate' = "Lecherous Cultivation" equivalent. Sexual scenes, fanservice, sexualized female characters [in design and description], etc.

And I agree with you with all that (I think, since I got turned around a bit), but to simplify it how I always saw it: harem when done in manga/manhua/manhwa/webtoons are for fanservice to draw in an audience when they can't come up with a good plot. It will usually be full of ecchi in every chapter and the story will either never develop, or just get crazy & crazier. If in a novel, it will still be 'inappropriate' at times, but actually be more flexible paired up with the story. If a drama, it'll be realistic usually. Self-satisfaction doesn't usually take place in these works... because what's really on their minds is profit and what they think the audience will want. The self-satisfaction comes from people who usually write because they have a story they want to share (this will never be the manga/manhwa/etc version, nor is it likely the drama version). Reverse harem works will probably start out with self-satisfaction because they like it, but will end up branching off because they're worried how it'll do with the audience. I know that because I have the same feelings when I write or plan for a story; having to worry about what is acceptable or not and changing it all around. Not to mention it's the female author's reputation on the line, and writing such a thing (in many cultures, even liberal ones) might harm it or at least be embarrassing to some. Those authors all end up getting cold feet even though they probably really want to go through with it. But if it won't be popular, then there isn't much point, since that is also an aspect of the 'self-satisfaction'.
I hope I made sense. I sometimes have difficulty getting my thoughts across accurately

YulongYuXianTaiyin I will just disagree and say maybe the female audience wants something different from the male audience. Who knows?

Guys...a little off topic there... I get that the question has been answered and i had actually somewhat enjoyed reading the debate but uh....it's getting preeeeeeetty long
You might wanna move this to another thread?

Distantskies To be fair, isekais and harems go hand in hand. Almost all isekai stories inevitably end up as a harem story. Just look at Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyu. Or Kaifuku Jutsushi no Fukushuu (wait, is that isekai though?). Or Suterareta Yuusha no Eiyuutan. Guy always gets surrounded by a bunch of girls, whether they are his classmates or from another world.
