I was just reading The Lecherous Cultivation System and author dropped some chapters and said webnovel was going to get rid of r18 stuff so he wasn't going to waste his time trying to write a story only for it to be taken down.

I completly understand him and he is right but the issue is wtf. Why so suddenly, doesn't webnovel has like many many r18 stuff, ESPECIALLY fanfiction. Their fanfiction is %80 harem wishfulling r18 stuff. They can't possiblly do that can they

If they do that they should get rid of everything that has R-18 content, including their novels. FL novels will be basically excluded, as there are scenes of lingerie and provocations in the R-18 environment. And on top of that it will take a grand part of the range of writers and readers, probably grand part will migrate to the RoyalRoad.

And if they want to remove these contents, why not remove their novels, which have constant rapes from the FL's, that the purpose already has a community that highly criticizes this type of content. If we went because it was improper, I believe that novels with rape on the webnovel are much worse than CONSENSUAL novels that are R-18.

They won't delete the r18 stuff, they just won't contract original novels that have r18 things. You can still write them and all that.

SlothRuler like I said I talked to one of the editors, which talked to that writer. What he said was he couldn't make a contract with r18 material. But the writer could still write the novel, it won't be taken down. It will just remain not contracted.

lynerparel Let's face it, the difference between what will happen if you remove them or not by hiring them will be minimal. Do you think that the authors, especially those who aim at hundreds of chapters, will still write knowing that they do not have the hope of a contract?
It is the same as saying: Before you worked for me with minimal hopes, now you will work without any.

SlothRuler Well, I'm just saying that the information relayed is flawed. The r18 stuff won't be removed by webnovel. If it would be removed that would be by the writer's hand. I just wanted to clarify things, that's all.

I only feel bad for the authors. Some of them reached more than 100 chapters and they could be hired soon, due to the amount of power stones they were receiving. Now basically they are not going to have the same focus and desire to write as before.

lynerparel But the question is what they will consider. For we probably have genocide, rape, ethnocide, brutality, psychopaths, international racism, mainly Japanese, in most of the translated content. They're basically saying: I can do bad things, but you can't.

If they remove this content, then I agree with the contractual restriction. But being partial to the company's headquarters, qidian, and criticizing the originals is too much.

SlothRuler Well, the rules are kinda loose there. But originals are mostly from foreign writers and have a different set of rules.

lynerparel It must be remembered that they made WebNovel to enter western lands. If they put so many restrictions on writers who are used to greater freedom of expression, how did they spread a wider audience?

SlothRuler I don't really have an answer to that at this point. I guess I'll just take a wait and see attitude.
