I dislike the current leveling system. What about you?
I am one of the early readers of QI who started months ago. So I was waiting for something like this leveling system and I even commented on this possibility when QI released spirit stones. (I do not know how chinese Qidian level system works).

But with the way it is now I have to say I am disappointed. Why?
1. No reward or special token for existing loyal readers who started way back. Instead what we got was a forced avatar change, asking for google link for a already linked google account, asking to complete profile which looks complete to me, Really Frustrating to a old daoist like me.
2. Not fun- Current system for level up is boring and not enjoyable. At least for me, writing comments and replying are part of the daily routine and its acceptable. But why do I have to write 2 reviews on a daily basis. Do you want me to scam reviews just to meet the quota? That boring. And I loathe scam reviewers. Encouraging this is bad unless you want me to give 1* on all the novels I did not read.
3. Tedious with limited potential - Bluntly put in my view this current system is just doing a tedious chore. There is no growth potential to this system from a reader's point of view. Because main source of exp is friend invite which I understand is a part of QI growth program but its tedious and only provide little to no help to most of us in lvling up (If we have a lot of friends we won't spend our time reading this.).

My suggestions - Let's make the system fun
1. Make the scale big. By giving us exp for just logging in and reading. Make it 100 levels if wanted.
2. Exp for bonus chap. - Give us exp for reading bonus chap whether through watching ads or using spirit stone. This way in case QI changes their game to pay to read(which many fears) people like me who got 1000 SS but still watches ads just to support the team and poor people who cannot spend but only watch ads can earn exp.
3. Some tasks are good like comments and rating. But forced review......NAH...NAH....NAH. Fine if you want me to review with 1*?????
Instead how about reward for 1000 messages or 10 reviews as in task mode?
4. Make it a game. I mentioned this in the previous suggestion comment somewhere long before. How? Hire me and I will help you. Snort... Why should I tell you? QI, after frustrating me like this.

What do you think? My Fellow Daoists and members of Jianghu. Tell me what you honestly think about this current leveling system.

Agree... I never did the review mission. Just like you KingBiBiK ... I'm also an old daoist. Have been loyal to Qidian since their first debut as an international website (although I don't have an account the first few months as I'm to lazy to make one).

We have the same standing with new readers which actually disappointed me... Old readers have been waiting for this level system. But... I'm not even doing the missions anymore. I rarely comments on the novel I read too. This system make me disappointed to the point that I don't mind to stuck at lv 1.

I did try to complete the missions yesterday (or maybe it was the day before that?) but after completing them ('a job half finished is a job not done' or something) I have come to a conclusion.

    I give up.

It's way too much effort for a simple guy like me who simply wants to read and occasionally review/comment. There is also the idea about thoughtless comments for the sake of completing comments which I will admit having committed on that day. I feel like in a few months, most of the comments on this book will just be '.'s or '-'s or other one character comments.

P.S. I'm also one of those people who signed up for the beta test (imagine my joy when I got an email saying I was allowed to join)

Neverfire7 I feel exactly the same. The current system is so dull to the point that its just a waste of time and energy to keep tab on. And ironically exp req will increase exp. like 1000 and 10000 for the next lvls.

You won't get exp until you do the req 2/2 which bugs me.

Neverfire7 What do you mean by beta test?

KingBiBiK I completely agree. That, coupled with the random SS system felt like a slap in the face. It felt like my loyalty was being treated like trash. First off, the tasks were annoying instead of fun, and I had done most of them already. I'm not going to redo things I've already done. And the review thing seems like it will just mess up the reviews. You should review because you want to and because you care about the community, not because of a reward.

If they gave xp for reading, using SS, commenting, or anything like that I would be fine with it. Many forums have ranks based on how much you post, and that's kind of fun. But I'm just going to ignore the current system and hope they roll out SS for money soon, so I can stop watching all of the ads. I don't mind supporting the contributors, but I would rather do that with my money rather than my time.

Just like what you said... It would be more fun to make it as a game. Like... 30 exp for the first commenter in a certain novel (state the title).

Make a good comment and got at least ten like to receive 10exp. Or 1exp for every like. And maybe involve the forum for the missions. As we are much active in the forum rather than the review section which full of scam review. I remember that 1 review in an unreleased title at the voting section. I hate those kind of reviewer. They don't even read it! It's rude to the Author, TL and ED! So I decided to give 5 to balance it. But what can I do? My review only gave the title 3 rate. Fortunately, there's people like out there who help me balance the rating until it was acceptable.

That is one of the reasons why I hate the review mission.

KingBiBiK I think when Qidian announced they were expanding to host translations, you could sign up for an account but for the first month or so, it was on this trial/beta period where they would email you an activation code. Soon after each person was given a set of codes to give out to friends. After that, signing up was something everyone could do.

I'm never one to balance a review... And I never make a review. I also never do anything that will gain myself hate in this website... I've been loyal! But what do we loyal readers get? We old daoist get? Same starting line with the new cultivators?

Not gonna snort, because I consider myself as a lady. But I'm very disappointed. Unhappy. Sad. And my feeling right now is negative. Those kind of missions going to mess up the rating!

No offense Qidian... But we doing this so you could improve for the better.

Excuse my grammar mistakes and typo. I post this comment with a hot head. I don't bother with my grammar anymore!

TheLonerLion Agreed, something like translator/editor-moderated comments would definitely reduce spam. It might also increase the amount translator-reader interaction that's currently going on, but I think that may be a post for another thread.

TheLonerLion That's pretty nice idea you got there for the game.

Racing to comment first is pretty good.

The game idea I have in my mind is big and can even possibly earn QI some bucks in the future. Its little similar to what you had in mind with a bigger scale.

              TheLonerLion My elegant lady,
You profile pic itself seems like like you are in a serious mood. You are indeed a LonerLion fierce and majestic. Leave the snorting to us.

Snort. We should have a pioneer symbol or something unique.
We should be pampered for being loyal. hum.......

TheLonerLion While I agree with what you said, I just have to state my personal philosophy for reviews; the review should reflect the quality if the work you review, not what you think the rating should be. Qi's review system is already pretty biased, I don't think they need help getting high reviews. No matter what the rating is, if the product deserves three stars, that what it gets. Not 5 stars because it has a 1 star review to get it to average out. Otherwise I feel like you're being dishonest towards whoever reads your review.

Maybe I'm just stuck in my ways though. I'm currently trying to become a professional reviewer so I'm always really particular about reviews and the like :>

                  PearPressure True that.

I review a book based on how I felt after atleast 40 chap. even it bored me to death and try to be honest as much as possible with a little personal bias and frustation if I have any in the novel. But what annoys me is the merge of translation and updating stability in the rating section. It pisses me off because a 3 novel ends with 4 after I give 4 and 5* to translation and up stab.

This sometimes makes me forcibily give lower rating to one or two sections to lower the rating to what they deserve.
