Why can’t I watch an ad anymore? And why has the price increased from 4 Spirit Stones to X Spirit Stones?

There are three types of ‘barriers’ for novels:

  • Completely free. These novels have no form of barrier or walls, allowing anyone to read them.
  • Adwalled. Usually, the latest two chapters for these novels have an adwall. Anyone can view the ad to read the chapter (even if you’re not logged in, however, if you log in again, the system won’t realise that you’ve already seen the ad) or they can pay 4 Spirit Stones (you have to be logged in for this) to read the chapter.
  • Premium walled. Some novels may be premium walled which means that you won’t be able to watch an ad to read the chapter. Roughly, for premium chapters, one must pay a Spirit Stone for every 200 words. However, if a chapter is 1000 words, for example, you might not necessarily pay 5 Spirit Stones. There may be other factors influencing the Spirit Stone price.

This is probably to ensure that every conversation makes sense, instead of people editing their messages to make everyone else look strange. If you double post, then delete the second post, you will still not be able edit your post. The same applies with making a thread. If someone says something on it, even if it is later deleted, you will no longer be able to delete it or change the title.

    I think that most of these are pretty straight forward but I definitely had questions related to these answers previously. The layout is very easy to follow as well. This or something similar should be stickied and kept updated.

      Neverfire7 You've answered all the ones I remember, I had already found the answers before reading hence the confusing dialog.

      If you can find out where the exclusive ad viewing for SS can be found then that could be added. I find a lot of people mentioning it but there is no actual evidence for its existence that can be found.

      You could also add the best way to get a response from Qidian (assuming email?). Also a list of people who represent or partially represent Qidian on the forums (if such exists and is allowed to function as such).

      It wouldn't hurt to describe how the current premium system works as well, although I am not sure that enough of that is set in stone at the moment. Some of it can be found in Qidian's book of answers, Premium to free release speed and pricing format. Don't discount the people who don't know of or don't bother to read Qidian's answers to questions as they are typically hard to find and somewhat vague.

          Please include do's and don't in the forum. Seeing what happen to gibbs even after he reads the toc, some people might have doubts. And the poor guy had been banned 3 times lol.. each with different offense i believe..

But it varies from novel to novel, probably just do the math and make a table. If 2 releases purchased a day, assume that free SS can cover it, 4 costs 50 cents a day and 6 a dollar a day. That gives readers the chance to budget and choose which novel they want to put their SS towards.
