I've always been curious about this, how does a novel from webtoon get pick up my comic artist? Anyone know? And whats the process? Do you sell your novel or you get paid by chapter?? Just curious

I am not sure what criteria the Chinese and Korean web novels need to fulfill to be adapted into webcomics, however, I had to pay on my own for mine.
I have two novels that have been adapted into webcomic format. One of the projects is on hiatus but can be found on Tapas, the other has the teaser available in other places, but the actual comic will be out as a print version later next year.
Most English web novels have to pay for the creation of a webcomic themselves. The only place where they get picked up without any cost, that I know of, is Tapas. Here you have to have a contract with Tapas and then perform extremely well before they will consider making it into a webcomic.
However, if you are curious about having a webcomic, then expect it to be expensive. I usually pay $600 for every 40 panels. Not pages, panels.

Tinalynge Thank you so much for your insight! I never knew that it could be that expensive. I thought that if you get enough readers that your novel could possibly be picked up by comic creators. Haha.
Congrats on your comics by the way! More power to you. How about payment? How does your payment usual go? It is base on readers or votes?
And how about here at Webnovel? Ow much do writers usual make?

I think I'll stick to novel writing for now. Haha.

My webcomics has earned absolutely nothing :D to earn money you need to contract it to one place or another, but it is a bit complicated due to copyright rules. You need to buy copyright from the artist before you can contract it, and when you contract a webcomic you need to ensure you do not also contract the novel.
