While premium trend is increasing I’m not sure if anyone notice (I’m sure they did)... premium is easily going to cause you to spend on the low end of $50 for a book that one would normally see a fair value of probably less than $10 if it were sold stand alone

Granted if they had a monthly all access for $5-10 I would do it but at 7 cents min or so a chapter with some novels hitting 1k chapters it’s silly the way they price it. Overtime the entire cost of the novel would be ridiculous. Oh and the concept of free stones are worthless when u look at library of heaven pricing a chapter at 12 stones.

Also pricing on per chapter is also likely going to lead to shorter chapters / breaking apart longer ones and other ideas just to game the monitization mechanism.

I definitely see the need to monitor but they should make it subscription at novel or all access level. Like monthly for novel, lifetime novel or all access monthly or annual and go from there. This spirit stone thing is trying to milk out a value that’s way to crazy by spreading the purchases out over time

I'd pay 5$-15$ a month easy for qidian. Although I wouldn't trust them not to screw me over and stop the sub system so I'd buy 10 years worth at once.

You guys know that it's up to you to buy premium or not. I share accounts with my bro, so we both benefit. Why don't you find a friend willing to share their account?

If you really want to support the translator the best you could do is become their patreon.
Don't come here with an attitude thinking you are superior by giving money to translators because you aren't. The money that you spend is all going into QI's pockets. Translators and authors would only profit from premium in a few months

Lomacris The money isn't going anywhere, once the free SS is gone they still need money to pay so most of it is just sitting in an account. The Translator also doesn't cut a check to the author, the techs who work on this site, the editor or any of the many people who make it happen.

Gamblejay Exactly that's why I am complaining.
Imagine there are 100 premium chapters, and you bought the packs that gave you the triple the stones you bought as bonus. If i buy 75 chapters with those bonus stones the translator doesn't get any money, he only gets money on the last 25 chapters that I used the bought stones.
So till this massive influx of bonus SS ends translators won't get a single can't of the premium. Immortal Mortal for example were one of the novels that started the premium and if they keep the pace they have currently the novel will end before this massive influx ends. What does this means? It means they are gaining a lot less money from this system.

Lomacris Have any of the TL for the story spoken up? Rather than speculate I don't quite believe they would just work for free. I know I wouldn't work for free, so while I won't say that they are getting paid something I would imagine there is some kind of deal worked out between them and Qidian. My bet is Qidian bought the chapters outright or maybe they agreed to a hold on funds if Qidian provides them with another hot story to TL. I don't know how it all works but being on payroll now I don't imagine people just get to choose w/e novel they like.

You just don't know these kinds of things unless one of them speaks up. Speculation is the devil.

Gamblejay I don't speculate. The translator of Immortal Mortal spoke about that on Patreon.
He even said his income reduced 40% from what it was before.
There were various threads formed about this issue in particular, so you should inform yourself before speaking about something you are not sure
