It’s been ages since Way of the devil and Ultimate schemining system last had an update.. Any news on this?

Qidian should consider first sorting their shit out and only after releasing new retarded novels.

For WOD:

Every translator is assigned books. And if a new translator is brought in, they are usually given a new book. There is some leeway given to existing translators (since they are the ones who know the book the best) but if they are unable to keep up with their release rates, they will be replaced or helped.

Sending a new translator to take over or help usually means some down time, since the new translator has to catch up, as well as understand what terms to use, etc.

      CKtalon Well, looking at the past examples, i'm not too optimistic tbh. It has been 8 months for the Dark King and i'm pretty sure there is no hope at this point...

          N0xiety looks like there are novels filing up with no updates. I hope the web novel address this issue too.

              CKtalon He dropped the novel 8 months ago when it was brought here, it's not a fan translation anymore.

                  CKtalon Well, if you are meaning to say that Qi is waiting for a fan translator to pick it up, i don't see that happening in the foreseeable future since it's being posted here. Since the novel is posted on Webnovel, no fan translator would want to pick up a half finished project that comes with such baggage like this. If Qi is waiting for old fan translator to continue, that's even more impossible since that's the whole reason he gave up on it. So it's safe to lose all hope in it i guess. Since if Qi won't appoint someone to translate it, no one else will at this point...

                      CKtalon Shouldn't Qi take responsibility already? 8 months is a long time to sort things out. Keeping it in fan translation status is a way to pretty much guarantee we won't get to finish the novel unless we learn chinese...

                          N0xiety More like you should blame the fan translator for giving up? By putting on fan translator status, it means QI doesn't intend to have it translated by themselves.

                              Don't you hire some translator to finish the job? Or are you also in need of translator?

                                CKtalon Starting from Zero was also fan translated and now was picked up by a translator. Don't see why that can't happen to dark knight

                                    Lomacris If a translator is interested, they can pick it up. Isn't that what fan translation has always been about? This just goes through Qidian.

                                        This is confusing.. I don’t get why can’t they assign the translators that were meant for not yet released novels to those that have been dropped instead? Shouldn’t they first properly handle existing projects before introducing new ones, especially if the new ones are mostly rubbish..

                                        CKtalon On the description of Starting from Zero, the translator said he is extremely excited to transform the novel to a "true blue translated novel". I assume it means it's not a fan translation anymore. You guys assigned a translator there, and while it was slow the previous one was still updating, instead of Dark Kinght which stopped being updated 8 months ago.
                                        I am sure a lot of people would like the novels currently on the site to be taken care of and updated instead of bringing new novels every week that may stop in 3 months because the translator just feels like it

                                              Lomacris There's really no way to test if a translator can remain consistent unfortunately. Thankfully, there will be translators to take over but there will be some downtime as a result.

                                                  So a new translator came around but nothing changed for Way of the Devil.. We can count ourselves lucky if we get a single chapter per week.. It’s like Deep Blue decided to take on a new identity as Xintuz(or w/e his name is) and is moking us with that avatar of his.
