Dwarkin I tried that, created 5 alternate accounts of the characters from the story, made them talk and argue with each other in the comments. Became a chore to keep up to date... that and I've completely forgotten their logins since that info was on my old PC.
To all readers out there,
Dubstheduke Well said
Dubstheduke Couldn't have said it more perfectly
I've almost had a very... complicated self-questioning session about the same topic. Wanted to write my 2nd book, very afraid about if it gets any attention. I know it takes time, but with over 9k views on my 1st book and no comment no nothing. I really start to question my readers, if they are lurkers is fine, but give at least a sign here and there.
Sometimes even depressing to look at your views and sometimes reads go up, but no comment from your readers, or any sort of sign.
Dubstheduke can I ask your permission to paste this post of yours on one of my author's note?

TheStoryBloodhound Take the viewer count with a grain of salt. Majority of that is likely bots people use to scrub the site/farm exp and fast passes
Wolfick It is a shame, but the 8-10 people that actually take their sweet time to read. I am grateful for it.
TheStoryBloodhound I feel the same but the bot comments hurt more then no comments
I totally agree with this post - i would love if someone commented on my work, just so i know if i'm doing something right, BUT! I think the most important part of the experience/progress, is to simply enjoy writing, even though someone might never read it - and believe me, i've struggled myself, almost given up at least a million times, but i love writing, so that's my motivation. I promise you, someone will read your work, if ur just persistent x (i'm currently waiting myself, but seeing it from this perspective really helps <3)
calflikydrauthor I love writing as well, but opening the app, just seeing that someone commented on your Story. Your heart starts racing, and then... a comment advertising something. I just delete them, I don't want to even think about them.
One of my reviews being an advertisement? No thanks... I appreciate the stars but I don't need fake reviews only honest ones. I even released 1 Chapter per Day for a month straight. Made 500-1000 views, then I slowed down to 3 Chapter per week.
There are many points where you think you can give more, put more time into it. Just so someone says "Hey man, cool story keep it up!". But Success comes from hard work, blood and sweat. Not in this case, this one requires.... that certain, persistence, everyone is so eager to find and maintain.
