I have been in this site for around 2 years, Maybe 3 years; and i have noticed in the last year that like 90% of the novel follow a trend to copy what's popular, but in bad ways.

while trying to give a spin to premise is goods, all the novel lately feel like they are the same thing, and not due to the overuse of cliches. For example the Pilot section is full with novel that honestly can be botered to pick since the synopsis suck , to add insult to the injury, the novel are actual listed to be picked and have trial chapter have A - Bad Tranlation, B - Forced Geo location (making a chinese novel into something american or even european for reason unknow) or C - Copy of another novel of similar characterstics.

and i'm left wondering, what the hell is wrong lately with this section, cuz it seem like novel made by non-profesinal are way better than the one in the section to be translated.

    The translated novels are also made by non professionals, but Chinese. And then, translated.

    The difference between translated and 'originals' in this platform is the language, not the professionalism or quality. Like the original authors from this platform, if a Chinese author wish to earn, he'll also drink from the successful formulas to easily attract readers.

    If yu know people within a neighborhood loves pizza with pineapple, why would you try to sell them pizza with peperoni instead?
    You want your business to strive, so if people wish to eat pizza with pineapple, feed them with that until they vomit! They're paying!
    Then many pizzaiolos will start making pizza with pineapple, since it's garanteed to sell, until people starts vomiting. That's the logic.

    When you read 3 years out of web novels in the same genres, of course you will see many similar novels and easily notice that a lot of them suck, no matter if it's original or translated.

      Indeed, but there are myriads of novels on Qidian (and now Faloo), but only a few are getting translated. And some people are filtering the novels and selecting the better ones (to their taste) to translate. On the other side no one is filtering originals here, so there are too many graphomaniacs writing pure bullsh!t.

      Anotoki You could also hunt for original novels. I mean, some of them are hidden gems. Time to digging my man!

      Mostly it's a waste of your time to dig through the piles of garbage while trying to find some gems, because these piles are even reaching the top of the ratings

                Lol. Same. I've seen a lot of "STRONGEST REINCARNATION HEROES WITH SYSTEM" and the like with generic story lines, decent (I'd like to call it elementary writing styles) writing styles with no "showing" and more "descrobing/telling", and no plots. And people would just flock over their novels and sing praises as if it was the best one they had seen.

                    SrtaA I've similarly read novels for 3 years, but the amount of repeating novels this year has increased exponentially. In the past, even if there were repeating ideas in novels, they were usually implemented differently or the batch of novels having more variation, instead of one, two, or three generic types hogging the whole batch.

                        An_Ambitious_Carp that's the point. The same genre and basic plot is also flooding the originals. Everyone want to be the next golden egg goose. As sellers, they bring what is selling. It also means authors are copying each other and writing the same thing.
