You got pressured into writing something you didn't want to. Your reader base is disgusting, and you have no backbone. Writing, to translated authors and a lot of 'originals', is 100% about money.

As an author, write what you want to write. No one can stop you. But, you should always understand - Certain things will make your novel trash.

I'm only bringing up one or two things right now. I won't even go into depths the sheer amount of problems both original and translated have. Why is that? Exactly because of what you just said.

Readers want this, authors give, it's a buisness. And, a pretty bad one at that.

All I'm saying is, write to write, not for money. Because this will 100% make your book... Biased? Bland? Stupid? Too many things.

If you've read on here for a while you should have a general idea of what I mean. Just a bit of research will also help.

I understand that perfectly, but there are a lot of problems with this here. Money will turn a 500 chapter novel into 4 thousand.

I just want people to understand the various factors that ruin many novels, the leading cause being money and something else.

If you want money, go ahead and make money. Just know, if you let it influence your book too much, well..

I actually never understood the concept of harem, neither have I sticked around to read any. And neither have I written any, I don't give a damn what others say about my book. It's mine and mine alone

Misguided_Rooster Well, I still think the problem is how it came about. Because eventhough I like harem, there are still alot of harem story I did not like because of how bad the harem is.

Simply put .. Most harems like 95% are trash .. and you know it .. the last 5% is an exception... And I've read many novels where there's no harem tag. Instead there's romance tag then I expect to see a good Romance story but no even there ... And another thing is that .. the majority of harem today is really trash no matter how much you refuse .. I mean every girl in a harem story falls in love with that stupid mc cuz of some stupid ass reason and all the girls talk about SHARING a single boy ...

I have yet to not get a skeezy vibe from harem novels. Definitely wish fulfillment and fan service. That's one of the aspects of the Wheel of Time series that I absolutely hated...

No, it's just there are a lot of good ones without harem. Unlike chinese or jap where the majoirty pretty much have it.

Misguided_Rooster I agree with you thou even my novel has harem in it but I don't take harem that way, I just want to show how many people admire the FL and yeah my novel doesn't have any 16 or 18+ scene

Trash to some is masterpiece to others.
It's not like authors don't understand what they're writing, it's because they do that they write them. It is the way they make a living. Would you gamble and write something that might or might not hit or would you write something you're sure about? In the end, it is all business.

if every harem novel you read is trash novel then that means you are either
A:close minded
B:you read only trash novels they were trash and you blamed it on harem
solution read some good novels
