Collins finds out about the baby and miscarriage, and Jasmine expects him to react the way she had always known he would, but she's surprised when he says something completely different...

'You wanted a baby. You wanted me to be the father. So let's do it properly. Get married. Set up a home...'

Jasmine instantly recoils from this idea—mentally, emotionally and physically— her stomach cramping over the empty space that had been left by the miscarriage. This wasn't right. She figured his mind was somehow stuck on their lost child. This proposal could be nothing more than an aberrational moment that would be regretted within hours or days. And that was something she definitely didn't want.

So she chokes out the words... 'No'

He was offering the biggest temptation of all. Her heart was thumping a wild yes to it, not caring why it was being offered, responding instinctively to the things she'd yearned to hear—married to Collins Templeton, having a family...But she was sure that he was offering it for all the wrong reasons.

But Collins, stubborn as he is, is unwilling to take no for an answer, and now he's devoted to showing Jasmine that it wasn't such a bad idea. And finally when Jasmine decides to give their relationship a chance, it turns out to be one of the best decisions she's ever made.

        It focuses on two elves- a short, anger-prone mechanic and a lazy, idealistic gamer- who accidentally get caught up in a conflict between a gang of cosmic pirates, a detective agency, a megacorporation, and a crime syndicate. Also they're piloting a ship shaped like a hot dog, though that whole part of the story will come into play 2-3 chapters in.

        It doesn't take itself too seriously for sure, and right now there's just one chapter and a prologue, but I hope you'll enjoy meeting the main characters and seeing their dysfunctional chemistry! I have a whole wacky world I want to build, so if that interests you, come along!
