  • Why isn't there multiple ads for premium chapters

but your point is valid, the lack of ads for prem chapters is kinda weird. even if its just once the prem lock is removed there should still have been an ad there. ive also thought it was weird the ad option disappears after x days/chapters passes.

    @Aranwen1 as far i can remember I have only ever had the option of paying 4 stones for the normal chapters or an ad

      Battl3commander to skip a non prem its 4 but prem chapters are a min of 4 and can be upto 25 if they combine two chapters by mistake again :P

      so i focused on the prem side and didnt think of normal chapters, my bad

          they did say at one point ad's were going to be added to unlock premium chapters but never had put it in place, also like you can't watch a video and get free stones on the pc, where you can on the phone app, thank god for wifi, or its as they want you to waste data on your phone

            Proof for that statement? Because it seems very unlikely that they would let us watch 4/5 minutes full of ads for one chapter.

                @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL On Novel updates one of your many commenters/ rep accounts once said this and more, they also said you were making the site ie webnovel.com a media one like when you released the TKA anime last year, but many of your reps said stuff like this on the novel updates site, as it was asked by myself when you released you app 1.0v and everyone was asking why it needed so many permissions when installing before it was removed off gooleplay due to all the bad reviews, I'm sure you can ask in your office or read your own posts from the nu site also this is qutoed from your own post about beta the very last line of it , listed under Premium For Free (PFF),

                so far the video ad's to get stones is only via the phone and not pc ( and I've been told by CKtalon only 3 days ago you're not adding it to the desktop unless his info is wrong )

                so that cuts down the number of stones that can be used to unlock premium chapters as you can't earn the extra ones for the Premium For Free (PFF),

                  CKtalon the way its written ie the beta info it is implied, you can watch video's across the platforms used for the Pff to earn extra stones but it doesn't tell you that, as you said the other day to me it's phone only, then that does screw over people that use PC's, laptop's and pc tablets with fewer stones and gives no way to make up those missing ones, so it cuts down the ways to unlock stones via ad's to then use to unlock the premium chapters no matter how it's put,
                  it also makes phone users pay more due to data costs unless you use wifi I believe I said you the other day ( and above)
                  I in fact like using the ad's to unlock as it goes towards the site and yes I have bought stones but for my main stuff I still watch ad's always, so why not multiple ads for premium chapters on pc to make up for the missing stones we lose for not wanting to waste data on my phone etc

                    I use my cell phone to read and of the 6 novels I read 2 are premium and there is not the option to "see ad to unlock advertising", hopefully return that option

                        CKtalon have you got some real numbers for ss to ad as over the last few days I've been talking to website people I know as I build servers and set up sites ( i make no claim in designing sites or setting up the ad deals/ word etc I do all the techie bits etc) and they seem a little at odd's towards your numbers with the amount of traffic listed that we found online and how much you should be made via phone over pc ad's, as I've said in this and other posts I'm happy to watch ads to make up the missing stones we lose for not using the phone app also being that in fact qi / webnovel is owned by tencent and even run of the main ip in china I'm a bit confused as to if your doing it in house ( ie via tencents hosting service and ad servers) as if you are it seems odd to the amount you get back ratio wise as you qutoed above

                            You can easily check what CPM various ad networks give. It maxes out at $10 CPM, and most averaging around $1 CPM,

                            That means $10 per 1000 views, or 1 cent a view. One SS costs about 2 cents, so that's a ratio of 2x. If the CPM drops to $1 per 1000 views, the ratio is 20x.

                            Actually, I might have made a mistake, assuming using max CPM of $10. It's more like a chapter (average 10 SS) that is equivalent to 20 ads. So yea...to 'unlock' a chapter with ads, you need to watch 20 ads. But this is assuming that repeatedly watching an ad by the same person continues paying you the same CPM.

                            Also, ad revenue has been declining over the years, so it will eventually not be a sustainable model
