1. Portraying China as a capitalistic nation with a plethora of overbearing CEOs around every corner. Lol the Chinese government will 100% take away these idol-like CEOs and run them through an internment camp or put them under house arrest cuz they're more famous/powerful than Papa Xi himself.

  2. Bashing on Buddhist and Non-secular sects in Cultivation novels (bald donkeys, etc.). The Communist party has a hard-on against any and all religious content. If you look at Chinese history, they've done some brutal shit with the Buddhist monastaries, and even now with the Uyghurs.

  3. "Traditional Chinese martial arts OP!" Yea... no...

  4. Bashing on the system because it's "stupid"/"useless". As if having an OP AF cheat for simply existing in a world wasn't enough... The protagonists are never satisfied with their lives. Even before death, they were probably those ass hats that complain about unfair workplace practices when they actually never did an ounce of work, to begin with. "The last thing I remember was working overtime for a job my boss told me to do" Yeah right! Get the fuck outta here!

  5. DiNg ObNoXiOuS sYsTeM sOuNd!

  6. Systems that basically move the plot forward by providing extremely leading quests. Man, I even read this novel where the MC literally does nothing, dude's just a slave to the system (and not the fun kind where the system actually takes over the man's body, which was an aight story IMO).

  7. Virgin boys that blow a girl's mind away with their superior "sword work"...

  8. "You girl! I have never been rejected before... Now you have my attention! I am going to now proceed to act like a total misogynist and gaslight you into becoming my woman. Of course, it's alright because I'm hot."

  9. Jade beauties.... just... no...

  1. A mentally challenged or handicapped character becoming alright because they were simply hiding their strength for the perfect moment. The worst offenders are when the FMC's system or OP skill from past life straight up "cures" a character's autism. Like WTF?!

My problem again is still in those romance novels. Like!!! Must there always be a party scene, then the female lead goes there purely to slap faces, the blue bloods will be like, "actresses are lowly" and other shit. The birthday party or company anniversary scene is way too overdone.

It's either the grandpa that treats her well birthday or it's the grandma that bullies her birthday, like I said Overdone!!! And why must her sister have a problem with her? In the romance genre nowadays theres no longer any originality

Then the See God! Kill God! See Buddha! Kill Buddha! The Lord cultivators πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I just found another trope that I'm sick of reading. The peanut gallery. My God, the random characters spouting all sorts of bullshit and trash-talking the main character, as well the stupid info dump of the opponent's entire dossier. "Oh, Super Genius A is the core disciple of B Sect who mastered ultimate technique C, he's a prodigy who has never been defeated. Main character is stupid to go up against him! He's seeking death!"

Most of the times, I'm rolling my eyes as they waste entire chapters talking nonsense, wondering when they will actually start fighting. The authors really love dragging things out - is there a need to spend entire chapters on trash-talking the main character? And they literally do it a few hundred times throughout the damned story. Over and f-ing over again. Ugh.

Sigh.... talent is just potential, and potential without time to ripen is a waste. πŸ™„

grimreaper906 Exactly! This reminds me of...a well written review of a Chinese webnovel (Eternal Reverence). I think the reviewer, alenotbeer, put it like this:

"Once MC reached a certain level of power, then it's tournament time. First, there are tournaments in sects. Followed by tournaments for the main tournament. Then there is finally the main tournament, supplemented with a detailed dossier of each opponent that MC will face, which includes information of their sects, their power level, their skills, their specialty, their weapons, their rivals, their friends, their mother, their father, their dog, their shoe size, their last meal, and a five page essay about the day they took their first baby steps.

All that matters is that MC wins. And all these poor bastards cease to matter anymore."

It's hilariously true, though in many cases, they don't simply cease to matter - after losing to the MC, they try to take revenge by dragging their sect/clan/family into it, and then get everybody in their sect/clan/family killed. Then they cease to matter anymore.

DemonizedDemon Brothers are also cute! Brothers are also justice! Well, unless they have no comedic effect, personality, or anything of the sort in the story except for pushing the plot forward.

Benny_Manatee I found the title of that second story I was talking about, the one where the protagonist avenges his childhood friend who was raped and murdered by hunting down and killing all fifteen of her rapist-murderers, which led to him being executed. But he gets reborn in another world where all men turned into crazed zombies whose addled minds are filled with nothing but rape. The title is Kyosei Tensei. Protagonist's name is Anezaki Satoru.

It's time to add a daily reply to keep this post alive. Here we go.

            ...................

Morning shone and came the breeze
Achoo! came the sound caused by freeze

He wiped the snot, and stood he did
Looked around confused, suprised, quickly hid

A jade beauty was sleeping by the side
Nude she was, skin clear, exhausted from the ride

Memories began to appear, filling the young man dread
Quickly dressed and escaped this cave to seek his bread

            .

The beauty slept soundly, not feeling a loss
She moved and twisted, her head resting on
            a moss

She woke up groggy, she stretched and looked around
Her expression made several changes, but did not make a sound

She sighed finally, and resigned to her fate
Weird, inside, did she feel a bit of longing that came late?

            .

Our man had already escaped to the far east
He met several beauties and made them a feast

A carriage came across the travelling bunch
A young man came outside and our man had a hunch

His hunch came true as a sword battle ensued
Our man was defeated, he ran, and was pursued

But not before cursing and promising revenge
"Beauties, wait for me, I will definitely avenge"

The young man ran wildly, as fast as the wind
Dead end, the warriors smiled, "you have sinned"

They took a step forward, the young man ready to die
Suddenly, the ground began to crack as they heard a cry

A monster came out, a legendary qilin, it ate all but one
It morphed into a loli, a voice came, "a job well done"

Our man was rooted to his spot, his mouth ajar
He looked behind and an ethereal beauty stood afar

The beauty smiled at him, came to him and made him a slave
He served her scheming, but man! What pleasure she gave!

One day, or better say one night
On bed, he was fully showing his might

Her husband caught her cheating, enraged he was
Startled, he fell from the bed, "why make a fuss?"

Our man escaped while the duo quarrelled
He went and was about to fulfil what he promised

Alas, the first wife found him and chained him down
"Don't think about escaping again" she made a frown

The young man questioned the heaven, why was it so unfair?
Could he not have a moment? Just a moment to breath the air?

            .

Unbeknownst to him, somewhere far away
In another dimension, isolated without a way

A man was staring at a screen, not focusing on some game
He was watching the view count, it kept increasing like his fame

The man laughed with joy and obvious satisfaction
"Good food? Fast food gives money and gratification!"

            The Author

            Soon in Cinemas and Theaters

Tomoyuki Well well, I wasn't expecting you to remember my rewuest after such a long time lol Thank you, I'll definitely check it out!

Tomoyuki Its a shit way for authors to provide active exposition (passive is when the author writes the exposition in 3rd person or narrational format).

But it can often get really out of hand, especially in romance novels when you have those "netizen" live commentary and "water-army" bullshit. I don't even read those anymore cuz I know what's happening in there.

                5 days later

I am also tired of seeing tropes about the mc being magically good at everything , even things they're just seeing for the first time
Even their children are super kids with out of this world skills
And sometimes I also wonder about these CEO stories like if the ml is ruthless and cruel while always bankrupting people the why is he so carefree about life with only a handful of body guards because if it were really true then he should basically hire the miltary because with that amount of people having nothing to lose , they could do anything and not only a handful of assassinations
I am also tired of the basic one night stand stories like didn't they teach you about sex in school and contraceptives
