Harems give all novels a major run down. They turn all characters involved into retards, and eventually divert from what the point of the novel was in the first place.
Precious time that could be spent by my brain reading things like action and blood pumping adventure, why the fck! Would I want to use it to watch degenerate girls and boys who only think with their dcks and @$$holes their whole lives?

To call an act as a harem, the man must be:
1. Muslim
2. Sane
3. Already puberty
So... is the Main Character a muslim? Do you know which school of thought/madhzab he use?

Harems are merely an escape route for authors who aren't confident with their writing ability. While I haven't a lot of experience (considering I only started writing a month ago), I can tell that right away from my experience as a weeb. As a cultured man, I've come to realize this, since, y'know, well, I used to be a bit of a harem nut (what can I say, I'm a healthy man...)
It's not that I personally hate it, it's simply a waste of time. If that time were better spent on making a relevant plot (that doesn't include the stories that actually USE harems as the PLOT of the story, that's on an entirely different level), it would do the authors, as well as the readers, a whole lot of good.
Though let's be real. It all comes down to our nether regions. Who needs a plot when that's what's at stake.
