Hello. I am enjoying the website. Reading and writing novels.

A question regarding the age settings; They don't seem to clearly define what warrants each setting.

As it stands, the age settings you can choose for your novel are:

General Audiences, Parental Guidance Suggested, Parents Strongly Cautioned, Restricted, and No One 17 and Under Permitted.

Does anyone know the criteria for all of these? For example

No One 17 and Under Permitted: Scenes that include graphic violence, nudity, etc

Apologies if this has been answered in the forum already. It's a bit tough to find an answer so I assumed this may not have been asked.

Would be cool to have clear definitions of these. I feel like an action story I am writing might fall under a more broad age setting, yet I have no idea how to properly identify this.

Like, what on earth does 'restricted' mean? It is inbetween Parents strongly cautioned, and no one under 17 is permitted. So does that mean 'restricted' is a warning notice that sits between those two? Or does restricted allude to the story being restricted to certain regions?

Any theories would be greatly appreciated. If you have read to this point, have a fantastic day or night wherever you are.

This is what my original editor told me:

    •General audiences(Finding Nemo)
    • parental guidance suggested(Harry Potter)
    • parents strongly cautioned(Marvel movies)
    •Restricted(Joker)
    •No One 17 and younger(Game of Thrones)

Whichever your work(s) is closest to, give it the equivalent rating. My works are closer to GOT, so they’re both 18+ rated. Hope this helped dear☮️❤️😁
