Hello everyone, I noticed a lot of comments on Swallowed Star asking about when the next chapter will be and the status of the novel.
Here is my understanding of the current situation based on conversations around the translation community: Qidian fired the previous translator of Swallowed Star for a breach of contract. Specifically, he kept his Patreon (a site used, in this case, for early chapter access) even after Qidian went premium with Swallowed Star, and he refused to take it down. As a result, Qidian is searching for a new translator for Swallowed Star.
After the search is complete, the translator will likely have to take time to familiarize him/herself with the terms used by the previous translator (names of characters, organizations, planets, companies, cultivation levels, techniques, etc.). Thus, anticipate this novel being on hiatus for a while.
However, if there is anything that the previous hiatus of Martial Arts Master has taught us it is that absence makes the heart grow fonder :D I personally am eagerly awaiting the return of Swallowed Star!
