How about instead of spoiling, quotes, and other stuff. Let's talk about the monsters in a monster hunter kind of way. Like how do you suppose you would take down chacha or caesar?

Like for me, I would probably try to mount chacha and take her down. If I ever fall after chacha dies, I'd be satisfied.

DazzlingGem Nah, I hate machine translations. Ha ha.. Those interested can try it on NU first, then help us with the request to continue here. :) Hopefully!

The problem is perhaps the OLD translator didn't agree to move his/her translation here. This is why I suggest you to make a beginning chapters (the number is shitty for sure, 250 chapters.) to 'replace' the old translator. As much as people said that Webnovel is a 'thief' or 'copies', I had heard they offered to 'pay' old translators some money before they took the translation. If the old translator is missing, it would make the deal 'troublesome'.

However, it was another thing if a new translator appeared. As long as you don't copy the old translation, new translation is the 'new' translator words choice and translation. I believe the novel is free to be taken-over based on 'unwritten rule of Fans-Translation.'

If they couldn't contact the old translator, I think this will be a problem, also some translators had problem with WN's contract for example and didn't agree with moving.

Note: WW vs WN each had their own interpretation of the contract, so we should not comment on that way. Or who steal whom. Let the 'court' decide.

Could you contact 'old' translator with the possibility of moving his translation here? (I doubt so, the sites is a 'premium' one and the owner had been missing for long period.) I don't think Webnovel will be satisfied just to translating a half novel, while the old ones must be read on 'another premium' sites.

MasterRabbink Well, if Webnovel really picked this up, they could translate it from the start if they can't get the permission from the old translator. But what I don't want is machine translating it since those are unreadable (for me, at least) which will probably not gain much readers. :) That was why my advise is, those who haven't read it yet can read it in the 'old' site first and join us in this request here.

ChickenV Chacha will kill you first! Do you remember those bullies in the wanderers area and that snake! But I'm curious, is Chacha female?

mahina :( Yeah... That's why we need this!

SweetsTomato Ah.. I think I've read a few of those but not interested in the historical details. :D Was it the same 'Chacha' mentioned on Detective Conan regarding Yumi-san?

DazzlingGem they could translate it from the start

Based on my business sense. If I were Webnovel, it isn't worthy my time and perhaps the assigned translator's time. It is close to impossible.

WN needed to do almost 1/2 year of work, without a good income potential. Since former readers base will skip reading it. Who would give paid SS/watch ads-wall to 'old' chapters where it could be found somewhere else for 'free'? Unless the old translator is 'forced' to move/close/sell his old works perhaps after a DMCA (because the translator published a 'work' without official permission from copyright holder).

Based on business perspective and perhaps translator perspective [(s)he will be compared with old translator and of course will be FLAMED], it is not as interesting as 'new' cliched novels.

Publishing a new one is less hassle (no need to negotiate) for Webnovel and it would be 'fresher'. They also had 'many' web novels untranslated from China and new chapter/novel will added every day there.

MasterRabbink But if they really are going to pick this up, they have to translate it from the start if they can't contact the current translator. I'm guessing a few translated here should have started that way. :)

Even if we post the mtl version here, they still have to repost their translated version when it got picked up. I get the business sense you're saying but what I'm thinking is if the number of supporters for this request is a factor on the novel pick up, then I suggest that new readers could just try out the already translated version since the mtl is unreadable. :D

MasterRabbink I mostly agree with you, but I personally would reread, because itโ€™s been so long.

Plus...the novels with previous popular translations that have been released in the voting queue have had been greeted with such extreme enthusiasm that I have to assume they get more readers upon launch then non-previous TL novels just due to the hype...

Whether thatโ€™s cost effective though is another question and where youโ€™re probably right. ๐Ÿ˜–
