Like, for real. Do they not plan the plot ahead of time - at least an outline - or do they just write until readership drops below a certain threshold and say “whelp! Time to start a new book!”

MasterRabbink I mostly agree with you, but I personally would reread, because it’s been so long.
Plus...the novels with previous popular translations that have been released in the voting queue have had been greeted with such extreme enthusiasm that I have to assume they get more readers upon launch then non-previous TL novels just due to the hype...
Whether that’s cost effective though is another question and where you’re probably right.
