CKtalon Yeah I'm not trying to imply that the site is doing something wrong. I'm actually mainly replying to the people on this post who say it's too much trouble or puts too much of a burden on the author to do a DMCA, and also the people who insinuate that a DMCA isn't much trouble. To those people, I'm saying the issue isn't that making a DMCA claim is too much trouble, but rather the issue is finding out whether someone is violating your copyright in the first place. It's really not easy to do. Hopefully people out there notice, and tell you about it. Then you at least have the option of filing the DMCA. Otherwise you're out of luck. Of course for a fledgling author like me, I doubt anyone would infringe on my copyright because I don't have enough of a following for it to be worth it XD

Whoever screens the novel's is your problem, I've read so many so called original that has naruto powers or dbz powers. I mean seriously does your screener think those guys can buy the right's to use those in their books. That should be instant flag and instant reject or removal. Since they can end up implicating you guys, since it went thru your approval. Just a heads up but i suggest a massive clean up asap before this small fire turns into something huge.

Azrael4355 The ToS ensures that it is the author's responsibility to not infringe copyright. Besides, there are more than 3000 original works now. There is no more screening.

Ouch gluck to webnovel then seems like this will spiral out of their control soon. They need to hold the person who came up with this idea liable or the whole company will take a hit.

CKtalon sweet cause i really like webnovel 😂 i think they should take a proactive approach and clean things up before it gets to that point.

Azrael4355 Webnovel is just following industry practices. If Amazon is not dying because of such practices, there's no reason to be worried.

AndrewReise Actually, finding out if someone is infringing your copyright isn't that hard. Just google some recognizable parts (it's best to use parts without names since those could have been altered) every few weeks. You'll see then. It doesn't even take five minutes to do that, so I'd definitely say it's worth that time

BurningSky In most cases those plagiarizing don't make that much of an effort. The "nice" thing for them is that just copying and getting rewarded is enough. So why would they bother? Often it's even enough to just google the name of your story and something turns up

Other_god Did they accept the invite? If they did try pressing inbox then proceed to the notification button. After that, you'll see if there are rewards. If you see the rewards then just press the claim button.

If in any case, you did not see any rewards then I guess webnovel has a problem.

CKtalon What are the repercussions for accounts caught committing Copyright infringement because at the moment there is a single account with 6 original novels who I personally know are stolen and it seems it hasn't stopped them from attempting to steal more stories. It seems that in the case of multiple stories found on another site all by different author's should kind of be a red flag, I mean one or two author's I can understand but past that it's a trend of repeated infringement.

Dethati The copyright owner can attempt to sue the user. Inform me of the account, I'll see if they can be banned, but that's not really going to stop the culprit...

Seems novels are getting stolen from royalroadl.com. The authors are also getting mad.

My story has also been stolen, i would like to have the DMCA form for Webnovel to report a stolen story.

Biako go to the said stolen story, just below the add to library button, there is a report story button/link. a popup will appear and show you where to email first for a DMCA claim. email there then wait.

SnowDemoness those who were mad at Qidian are still just mad.

If you are talking about Forgotten Conqueror and Snake Report, they were taken down off of Webnovel, hence this announcement of the DMCA policy (as a clarification for what System Webnovel has in place). It is asking the community to help inform the original author (the real copyright holders) to file their claims, like Forgotten Conqueror and Snake Report.

The 6 new novels found to have been swiped or copied from RRL have been informed via their DM already. It will be up to the author to file the claim, no reader can file it on their behalf (see announcement).

                      Hope that helps.
