2 of the novels in my list suddenly had all chapters i have read becoming locked leaving the first 100 or so unlocked just me having a bug or happening to everyone?

ABitterDay stupid to the users but its something they should have been doing from the start. from a business standpoint it was stupid of them to let the adwall expire after a # of chapters/days has passed since they were losing potential money from these chapters. now, having realized this cluster f of an idea was losing them money they forced the change in a way thats pissing everyone off and realistically there was no good way to prevent the users from getting mad about this.
i asked about this in their discord(though it might have been the wrong channel) a few days ago and i havent received a reply about it. they also arent saying anything in the forums. we can pretty much guess they know this was a d*ck move but im not worried about that. im worried they might have expanded too fast and are having money issues which led to this cluster f of an add on. in the long run, this really doesnt affect users that badly and its not as big of a deal as people think it is. short term, it was a really bad way to implement it and should have worked something out for current users to not get locked out of chapters they either already unlocked(with ss or ads) or have read through as their library is keeping track of their latest chapter for them. but then again, thats setting the bar pretty high so.....
if its not obvious, im a bit biased towards the site in general. like most of the staff ive talked with but overall bad impression of the site. still going to read the novels >= 3

Aranwen1 if they do this those novels will just die down from rankings and people will move over to pirate sites and rip to the ad traffic from those. this kind of forced business tactics that get implemented halfway through the novel just pushes people to go elsewhere to read it for free and kills your own ad traffic lose lose situation on both ends imo

They are illegal. For an example: Emuparadise just surrendered. 2 ROMs company in 'danger'. While Nintendo perhaps could DMCA them, Nintendo took the easy way. Sue them.

Ads in 'small' website is dangerous. Prepare Ad-Blocker! Lol.
Aranwen1 The worst part about it is they do it with premium novels too so you have to pay for them again, if they wanted to lock previously free or paid for chapters it should be with an ad instead of spirit stones. I miss the days of spcnet, release rate was super slow but at least you could talk to the translator or people in charge

This should not happen. This could open a real 'litigation'. They couldn't do that. Even if it was using their 'freemium' currency. Ads watching is different and might open different interpretation. (I prefer ads like youtube, you watch ads after certain duration. Watching ads for novels with a short chapters is... f*ckng annoying. They should made it an ads for 3.000/5.000 words for example. The longer the video ads, the longer we could unlock the ads chapter.)
Spirit stones even had 'usage' history. I believe what had been unlocked by SS have to stay unlocked.
This is the best part of RR or WW. There is member of 'admin' in the forum. Even when the same thing happened. Like talking to the wall (yes, most complain still went to the wall/trash bin), but at least we can see them.
How sad a Dev appeared more often than a 'community manager' here? At least in here, you could talk directly to the dev. Lol. That is rare in other platform.
