Probably just dead novel knowing this site. Up to like 5+ novels I've read just get flat out dropped with no notice or anything from the TL.

Qidian has legit killed those novels and doesn't care. They don't communicate with the reader base at all outside payment/app/account questions from what I've seen. Cant even have 3rd party TLs pick them up or they'll get DMCAd.

There's no reason for webnovel to care and put effort into making sure everything is quality when people will just pay for privilege and chapters even when its shit quality. You could literally just upload direct MTL content and I guarantee there would be people defending it in the reviews, paying for privilege, etc.
Realistically this is just how the world works these days. There's no incentive in putting more effort into something for the consumer if you don't have to.

Pursuing Immortality is one of my favorite novels on this site and I would love to see translation resumed. In abandoning great novels and just leaving the readers with nothing, this site encourages people to resort to machine translation or 3rd party translators (which would likely be DMCA'd, even though it's not being translated here).

Ultimately, it reflects incredibly poorly on Qidian as a site/company when novels are dropped like this with little to no communication with the reader base. The little info I've gleaned regarding the situation on this specific novel was from an editor comment in a different novel.

As some general feedback, maybe send out updates to users when a novel in their library is "dropped" with a simple explanation/potential future plans.

As far as I can tell, Qidian literally just ripped the first 535 chapters from this novel off whichever TL was doing it on WuxiaNation TL, posted a few more, and then left the novel for dead. I've double checked a few of the earlier chapters and they're literally identical.
If you check https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-dark-king/ you'll even see that there's a listed chapter for 536 (on page 4) named "Qidian is Bad", likely due to frustration at having the project pulled away.
That being said, per novelupdates there are now other TLs working on this project, albeit rather slowly.

Given the abandonment of a fairly highly read novel like Pursuing Immortality, I don't have much hopes of this site in picking up dead novels like this.

Afaik authors can delete any reviews on their novels. There have been numerous threads with tons of different users bringing up this topic.

Just don't read the ones that bother you? Pretty common sense.

  So you acknowledge that other people like these novels (albeit probably not due to the abuse)
• "but there are also readers like me who are fed up of them."
  But you'd rather webnovel censors them because they offend you personally.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any way trying to defend the abuse or discrimination within novels, but removing content because if offends you as an individual is pretty stupid. You have to realize that sexism is fairly prevalent in many cultures in the past, and thus you'll likely see some of it in the literature said culture produces. The genres that webnovels tend to fall under are also probably a bit more bold about this sort of thing as they're often focused around a mind set based on survival of the fittest and strength rules, whereas females are often seen as 'weaker' in some senses.
And asking for retribution in novels is also pretty stupid. If the author wants there to be retribution, they'll write it in, Qidian isn't going to just re-write novels to cater to you.

I would say that racism and nationalism are far more prominent in the novels on this site than abuse/sexual discrimination, but it's not like they're censoring that

If it truly bothers you that much, make sure you aren't buying privileged or spirit stones to show your stance against the site.

You can use dev tools to pull the text. Few extra steps but not that hard to do. You could probly also just write a script to pull them straight out into a text file.
