I'm also following this novel and find it odd that it is no longer active.

Yeah, I just noticed that with a novel I just added in my Library yesterday after reading your comment, they have more or less like 200 chapters for premium users, and the oldest one is unlocked next day.
But in my case, I stopped reading RTW at chapter 1051 and the free chapters end at ~880, your statement(of not having to pay if you want to read) only applies to readers that haven't used stones at all to read the latest chapters, otherwise they are simply stuck there until they buy more stones or the free chapters reach their latest chapter. If I want to read a free "new" chapter of RTW I can't.
sheenarose Besides the stones you get for free when you usually check the site daily in your PC, if you use the smartphone app, it can give you some stones(same random number like the free daily ones) by watching some 30s ads from Profile->Earn Rewards->Lucky Videos. You don't need to install anything, just wait 30 seconds for it to end and then close it to get the stones.
All_Night There is no free chapter a day for premium though, they give you free stones which can help you to read a couple of chapters, depending of their cost and your luck.
N0xiety If you read HJC you will notice 99% of the times the word started appears, it should be startled instead.

Daoist_N I noticed that just today thanks to your comment. I used stones to read RTW and then stopped because since they are expensive I waited for some chapters to become "old" and then released as free chapters, but now here I am with 30 chapters behind and no clue of when this is going to happen.
I thought older chapters were unlocked and only the newer ones needed stones(or at least that was how I heard it was going to be), thus I was waiting for that, but if you have the last 200 chapters locked then it means they will no longer release the old chapters for free. Such amount of chapters means more than two months of chapters restricted by a paywall. So I decided to limit my readings to one novel only, and that won't be RTW even if it pains me(too many stones needed for the 30 chapters and soon to be 31). With the free daily stones they give I can read at least the two new chapters of a novel just fine.
I also was reading HJC and discovered that the last third of the novel was put into paywall too, I finished chapter 680 before that and then woke up to see I need 28 stones to read 681... you surely jest, it might had a lot of text but I don't like that novel enough to pay such amount for one chapter, so I'll just drop it (didn't like the harem anyway, he should have just kept Bing'Er and Tian'Er and didn't like that the former was just "kidnapped" like half the lenght of the novel). Not sure if the novel was free for a limited time or something.
