icyhail It isn't on hiatus. What he meant to say by returning after two weeks was that he's going to write another novel XD, which is this one. https://www.webnovel.com/book/12463357705509605/Endless-Journey%3A-Infinite-Realms , which already has 50 chapters.
I have been scouring through originals, looking for some hidden gem, as I am bored, and do not want to always write in my spare time. Subconsciously, I look up for older originals novels; those novels that I know the titles in the back of my mind... And then I saw this.
A contracted novel/author suddenly dropping his novel from out of nowhere?
If this doesn't sound bad, the novel has 492 chapters,
and 143 of those chapters are LOCKED UNDER A PAYWALL.
Averaging ~10SS per chapter = 1430 Spirit Stones just poofing away on a story you'll never know the ending!
You might ask if this is a breach of contract, right? But in actuality... I don't even think it is!
These "authors" are contractually obligated to WRITE X-AMOUNT OF WORDS, mind you. I don't think 490 chapters would be lacking on that aspect of word count. I find it despicable because this author, in specific, is writing another story besides the one already in the paywall. HAHAHAHA wth.
Free Promotion you say? I'll take it
Reinesse the authors (originals) would have their earning culled down if they hire an editor from WN. As greedy and shameless as it may sound, if it were me, I would do the same thing and won't even bother hiring an editor when most of the premium readers would pay for an unedited chapter just fine.
FleetingClouds It seems fine on mine. If it is your first time adding a tag to a novel, and you're using PC, you might be doing it wrong. The 'save' button unlocks AFTER adding a tag. Write out the tag you wish to put then press ENTER, that should add the tag to the queue, then save.
Immovable087 It takes around 5k collections (they've been accepting a lot of requests for contracts lately so might as well go for it rn). At least aim for top 50 first. Check your email if you get a request to fill up the form by then.
All tips aside, just write something that sells here. Screw quality and quantity
Eustoma_Reyna It is in your novel page (or someone else's novel page) between the Synopsis and Weekly Power Status.
TheAdventurer Dafuq are you doing writing another novel? Are you not contracted?
DrunkenShadow Godly Model Creator is also hosted in Webnovel, so OP can read it here as well.

HeartWrench If you're plugging a novel... at the very least... tell the goddamn title.
phoenix_8888 We have been proposing a subscription method for quite a while now. Its never gonna happen, like the one they're doing right now is based on what they do on Qidian. So yeah. Premium is gonna, more or less, stay the same.

DarkPriest They'll be keeping a few "good" translations, like LOHP, TKA or RTW, but those that are forgotten would remain forgotten, without getting picked up by others because Qidian "owns" them and the readers could not do cr*p about it.
Gothic_Temptation It is bad. No quality control on what is released. No assigned editors/proofreaders for those that are contracted (some have, but the authors pay for them themselves, pretty funny). They'll just probably use their name and the fact that they have translations to make their SEO look nice.
And actually, you're right, the traditional translators of WN are mostly gone, few are left, and the recent additions to the site are translations that already exist either on Munpia or GT, so hahahaha
bachingchung Yes, I prefer K/J novels than CH, but I have to fuel my immature, wish-fulfillment deprived, low-esteemed side, and Qi novels are just the right touch.

Gothic_Temptation Webnovel is a site originally made for originals anyway. It has never been a secret. Sooner or later they're gonna mop translations that aren't profitable enough under the rags and focus more in the development of the originals section.
Lonelytree Came here for tea, ended up reading a romance fiction. I am not disappointed.
