I have been scouring through originals, looking for some hidden gem, as I am bored, and do not want to always write in my spare time. Subconsciously, I look up for older originals novels; those novels that I know the titles in the back of my mind... And then I saw this.

A contracted novel/author suddenly dropping his novel from out of nowhere?

If this doesn't sound bad, the novel has 492 chapters,

and 143 of those chapters are LOCKED UNDER A PAYWALL.

Averaging ~10SS per chapter = 1430 Spirit Stones just poofing away on a story you'll never know the ending!

You might ask if this is a breach of contract, right? But in actuality... I don't even think it is!

These "authors" are contractually obligated to WRITE X-AMOUNT OF WORDS, mind you. I don't think 490 chapters would be lacking on that aspect of word count. I find it despicable because this author, in specific, is writing another story besides the one already in the paywall. HAHAHAHA wth.

Cobyboy Yes, they are allowed, though it only serves to hurt their reputation.
Also, ending a story abruptly is highly subjective, so you can't use any laws against that. For example, you can have an open-ended ending, which readers can hate terribly, but it is still an ending.

From what i see it doesn't seem to be dropping his novel but rather a haitus though? And besides, the real question is why is that chapter allowed to be locked behind a pay wall.. it doesn't seem to be an actual chapter at all

CKtalon OMG really!? Hahaha I wonder how many of these contracted "authors" would do the same after hitting their obligatory word count. Thanks for clarifying it CK, very nice.

These people should die as well. The world would be a better place without them. Always looking to make money in any freaking way they find..... Lol. He's done for...

JunkieOverThe_Moon It does suck, but I seriously doubt you'd be so belligerent if you tried writing something. It's not easy - they can lose their inspiration, lose their motivation, get a stronger inspiration for another story that they feel is more compelling, or for the ones that just stop, maybe RL got in the way. It is frustrating, and it happens way too often, but you can't just assume the worst and get all pugnacious

Nah!! I was just kidding. I hatr, in general, all things that require money to get. I'm not really sure of what I wrote in the first place. I get what u mean. I'm going through that phase right now but my heart says different. I support those authors who only put paywall for Thier latest chapters rather than ALL of their chapter. Those who do that, I simply call them greedy. Well that can be applied to me too, u know, but I wouldve supported them if I wasn't a minor with no income source.
