Any genre can be can be pretty hard write, especially if you’re new and you’ve never written in the (genre) department before.
In my opinion, it would be anything that has to do with trying to make the reader feel tense, nervous, or terrified (as in horror or thriller). As a thriller writer, I have to work hard to make sure that I instill those emotions with just black letters while at the same time not trying to make whatever happens next predictable or cliché... ( sighs )

If you ask me, 1,500 words a day for a whole month is pretty tedious to me but if you really want to. Go for it!

Daoist048876 I don’t really know the system in which they select winners and you could be right, but I don’t think it’s exactly 1,500 words. You see, I won second tier and third tier before and I’m pretty sure I didn’t consistently meet that requirement... :/
So maybe at least 800 words?

Regardless, I think you should write it out first and then, ask for reviews and/or comments. If you do, other authors and readers will constructively criticize on what they liked and what they don’t like. You can apply it and ‘fix’ your novel based on these critiques but don’t feel bad. Everybody isn’t that perfect writer instantly, you have to spend time and effort in hobbies like writing in order to get better at it.

With that being said, just write and have FUN!

Tbh, when I brainstorm plots for my story, I have the beginning and the end all planned out. The only thing that gets me though is what comes in between... :/
Sometimes when I try to ‘fill the gap out’, I feel as if it’s either ruining the plot or I’m straying away from it. ( sighs )
