The screen goes darker when reading comics on the app and there doesn't seem to be any option to change that. No such issue with novels. So I'm confused what to do.
I've never read them and never intend to do. So stop doing it.

Even Netflix premium costs at most €12, Amazon Prime and Hulu around that too. A whooping €27 for a novel reading platform? QI, you're being too greedy again.
The discounted price should be the full price. A reasonable price will attract a lot more customers. That's like economy 101.
Seriously, if the best he can do is 1 chapter a week on average then I'm sure many would prefer a different translator.
Don't ruin a good story with a subpar translator.
