  • Seriously. At minimum provide a link to make it easy. Better if you also copy/paste a summary. Even better if you tell what type of novel it is and what a reader might expect to get from it.

  • kshar I think it involves using graphics-editing programs to clear out the foreign language and then typeset the English so it somehow fits and is readable, all this after actually translating what is there.

    • How does one use a gift code?

My quick seach of the site does not reveal anywhere a code can be used.

      • Agent32 How many books are you following that you have this choice?

I have 4 books that I check almost every day - almost an addiction so not really an option to skip a day.

I have another 4 or 5 that I read when the mood hits, or more often when I catch up with the first 4.

There are other novels I look at occasionally but I’m not really following them.

Do you really have 10+ novels that you really like? Enough that you might_NOT read them every day?

        • 1) A series of one-night stands can be boring to read.
          2) If an author focuses enough to make a side character interesting, why not keep her around instead of tossing her and having to come up with many more to replace her?
          3) I’d guess it shows the MC actually cares about the women.

          All guesses on my part.

          • KingBiBiK Gifts should not usually be considered buying, not as I was using the term.

Buying is a kind of fixed transaction.

Gifts are about recognition of something already there - nothing is required in exchange.

Not understanding this might be a cause of some confusion.

            • Azuminyan This is heavily dependent upon someone loving themselves, or even thinking that they are worth loving.

My assumption is that for this to happen a person needs to have experienced love at a very young age or to a profound degree.

And if that is the case, they might give gifts as symbols of love and remembrance to others, but they won’t try to “buy” love.

good topic! You’ve got me thinking and trying to clarify my own thoughts on this.

              • Azuminyan Many people try to buy love - with money, or things (cars, bot, house, jewelry, etc), or social influence (fame, power, connections), or even knowledge (“in the know”, gossip, academic degrees, etc).

The problem is that love, if real, is outside of all this and so....

                • It is pretty badly written, but the premise and story are actually pretty good.

If the author gave up on padding word count through constant unnecessary repetition, and stopped withholding appropriate plot/story information so that it can be pulled out later (either as surprise or to put off figuring out what it is till absolutely needed), it would let the story shine through.

This is one if those web-serials that could be brilliant after it is put into the hands of a good editor and made into a book.

                  • This makes sense. It allows us to show appreciation for a chapter we liked, for all of TL/editor/author.

Not all chapters of a good novel are good, and even crappy novels have some good chapters. Rating individual chapters will allow this to be recognized/appreciated.

                  • Geraldrold yeah, it is strange. I was hoping to read someone saying the app had this feature or something.

As it is, I’m sure there are novels I might like which I don’t know about.

One thing that can help is to look at the main page for a novel you like and click one of its tags.

You can also try changing the url of a tag search and substituting the tag... but you would have to know what tags are available to make this work.

                  • CKtalon Ah, that makes sense.

I am still getting familiar with the concept of “web novels”. Thanks for explaining it.

                    • I know there is a way to search by recommended tags near the bottom of the mobile web page (just click on one).

I don’t know if there is any way to see all the available tags.

                      • Bajnor Huh, now I am confused again. Many of the chapters seem to cover 2 or 3 topics or scenes and don’t have this added to the title.

What do you think it means?

                        • I’ve seen this at the end of chapter titles for Library of Heaven’s Path.

Does it mean the TL/editor combined 2 or 3 chapters from the raw into 1 larger chapter for the site?

                          • Lonelytree I love reading them together!

They each offer something the other usually cannot - visual environs and decorations and expressions, or in-depth descriptions and inner thoughts.

I am still a newb re novels/manga so I haven’t found such pairs often, but when I do it a real treat.

                            • Night mode, for me on the mobile website, does not work on Comments or Library, only the chapters.
