Citlalicue
indiscriminate
done at random or without careful judgment.^ There's no way that people didn't read your message as 'support female authors because they're female', especially if you did not explain you were defending hate comments. That's definitely not "careful judgment" or a clear explanation of what you wanted to say.
To reiterate, you sent the same message to twenty users and that's called spam

^ This was you, not fluffy. I remembered and am feeling particularrrrrly petty today. - In Ladies only.

Citlalicue I purposefully put the words "same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet" in italics, because those are the only words I want highlighted among the three definitions... To reiterate, you sent the same message to twenty users and that's called spam.
You chose to read around the words in italics, pick some words out and bicker. You could of also chose "canned meat product" too, but that didn't fit your argument aye?
I know I'm being snarky and petty. It's partially, because I've been in a shitty mood all day today, but also because I've lost respect for you after I saw you try to roast translators in another thread.

spam
noun
1. Irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.
2. trademark; a canned meat product made mainly from ham.
verb
1. Send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.^ Same message, twenty users. I didn't use the wrong word or anything...

Citlalicue To be very very clear, after spam tagging twenty users (including myself) and after all our replies, you're now saying that you
Citlalicue read some mean comments about female writers
But, you didn't say that before because
Citlalicue Maybe I should've given the whole explanation on it, but didn't wanted to make it longer than what it already was
In retrospect, you expected everyone to know what you meant without saying what happened and without showing any evidence that it happened. Then, in the end, you did a big reveal and said 'Wait a minute! I had my reasons!' and explained what truly truly happened...
Please do consider becoming a web novel writer.

anjeeriku Yeah I get it. Don't mind me either. I'm kind of just distracting myself from work right now by replying to @s. Everything I said serves no real purpose; after all, the title for this thread reads 'Ladies only'...

Citlalicue You've misread what I wrote; I never accused you of comparing the creative writing skills of female and male writers.
Citlalicue Help female authors rise by supporting their work. One example is right here.
Citlalicue If you have another female author you'll like to support please share it with us.^ No, you weren't just promoting TheLonerLion. See the plural in 'female authors'? You were talking about all female authors here. Your message reads 'support female authors because they're female'.
anjeeriku maybe she means original novel female authors should receive more readers.
^ Yup.

This is so dumb and sexist. Where is the gender inequality to justify supporting female authors here on Qidian?
Support talented writers for their talent, not their gender.

ImTheQueen Yeah but is not realistic.
You obviously don't understand that Edward Cullen is fictional lol.
I wasn't arguing who is the most realistically appealing character. I was saying that the author is a genius for being able to incorporate so many stereotypical, desirable attributes into one fictional character. I'm certain no one character design can beat that list. I don't prefer Edward Cullen over everyone else; again, I'm saying that it's amazing a writer is capable of creating a character like that. It's no easy feat.

Edward Cullen is the most perfectly designed male character in the history of teen romance fiction. He is:
- bad and dangerous
- rich
- handsome
- smart
- older and wiser
- a musician
- a sweet talker
- devoted
- forbidden fruit
- A MIND READER
- protective
- popular
- mysterious
- strong but restrained
- secretly emo
- sufficiently jealous
- has no baby mamas or exes
- has a nice family
- has the desire to be good
- appears at your beck and call
- appreciative
- low key
None of the other male leads can beat that
Stephenie Meyer is a genius for creating him. Fiction is fictional. Fiction is escapism.

In my opinion, translating is far more difficult than writing.
Learning Chinese as a second language takes so many years of dedication and discipline. As a translator, your language skills are skills you continue to learn and keep up for the rest of your life. Then, after learning to be bilingual, translators have to study translation theory and practice... That's two skills vs one, creative writing.

It's important to remember that fan translators created a readership for translated Chinese web novels.

What is TGIF?
TGIF is an event that will happen on Webnovel.com periodically. Obviously, TGIF will be hosted on Fridays and the event details will be totally unpredictable, even for Webnovel employees. It could be a promotional event, a mass release, or the release of a new series. Anything is possible! The one thing our fellow Daoists need to know is that TGIF is fun and beneficial for all readers. Don’t predict what will happen next week because you won’t know it! Just ENJOY THE FRIDAY![Source: all TGIF threads]
