@Daoist9rlczj Technically, you can't use any image with copyright, but a lot of writer use them here and just add in their synopsis "I don't own the right of this cover, if you own it and want it to be removed, please tell me." You can find free copyright image for your cover, you can ask someone to made it for you or you can make one by yourself with an AI.

@waterandfirecat It depend what you write. If it's fanfic their copyright on it but you can write about it but not earn money from it. If it's your original story, then once you publish it on a website (any site) you have the right on it and technically no one will try to steal it from you but some case can appear so have some save fold and files who attest that you already have this story from a while ago in your computer/phone. Also don't have to write you story here first, you can prepare it in your computer/phone files before begin to publish it here once you polished it or have made some draft around the whole plot.

@Claudiah_Darius You won't get paid by any website if you didn't get a contract, the only way to be paid is to have a patreon or thing like that and your readers can pay with "donation".

@nekrom1 Until you got an exclusive contract, you can upload your story wherever you want. You own it and no contract restrain you. So your free to do what you want with it. For the contract part, you have more chance to get one with webnovel than royal road. to be honest I didn't even know if their contract on Royal Road

@Arsenalhole6ty9 I use Webnovel, Royal Road, Scribble Hub and Wattpad. From the four, I have more view in webnovel, more rating/review on Royal Road and more comment on Scribble hub while Wattpad it's just dying due to my story not fitting the reader taste there. Using multiple platforms are good cause you get view/feedback, while some platform tend to have more audience in a genre, you can still fit there.

@Extr There a lot of incest novel and some are even popular. While it can refrain webnovel to contract with you, in my opinion it will depend on how much attention your story get.

@Extr What do you mean by taboo? There a lot of "taboo" who depend of the country and a lot of taboo are clearly accepted in novel.

@withlovetale For a new book, it's because their a period of 24/48hours where your book are examined by webnovel. From what I see on your novel work, your story are old and you posted a chapter recently after a year, maybe that follow the same rules and you need time before it get examined again.

You can also verify this :
1) check if you recently included chinese/korean/japanese characters in your novel. novels that have them automatically get locked b/c they're put on the ban list, and this prevents PS votes.
2) check if in your story status (inkstone > workspace > column titled state) says suspended or locked.
3) You can try sending an email to service@webnovel.com with your issue or use try using the chat with the editor in inkstone.

@Andrzejsaw Which AI do you use? Personnaly I use nijijourney to make image for my characters/monsters in my story and you have some option on it to make some words more important than the other in your prompt. Today they have even added an option to editthe image you made by select an area you want to change in that said image with prompt.

@Andrzejsaw Using AI is legal cause there no copyright on it now and that include the cover you will make with it too. The right was what make paid for an artist worth it, cause it's your own, you paid for it and generally an artist will make exaclty the image you have in your mind while an AI you will have to make a lot of try to have something close but not exaclty what you want. Take into consideration that depending on what you want a cover cost at least 50$ for the minimum quality and can go to 1 000$ and more.

@Andrzejsaw You can make one with AI if you don't want to pay anyone to do it. You can also use the book cover offered by webnovel/ use free copyright image or use an image with right on it but clearly said it's not your image in your synopsis like a lot out there do.
