Okay, one more for today and I'll stop. This review is from a notorious novel by the name of Welcome To The Wasteland, they rated it one star.

I think this novel was on gravity tales and had more than a hundred or two hundred chapters already. Anyway, this novel has all the cliches I find annoying in Chinese novels.

The novel has a mc who becomes a ** crazed maniac in less than 100 chapters, he has Captain America level of powers in normal earth, kills people for whatever reason(Some delinquents were harassing a harem member. He wanted to teach them a lesson and ended up breaking someone's bone. He felt like it would cause trouble to him so he just killed them all instead. The guys didn't want to kill him or anything, they were just perverts verbally harassing a girl...)

This story is pointlessly nationalistic(Author mentions China superiority in places nobody really cares) and author doesn't know about foreign countries that much, so every foreigner is a stereotype. All mexicans are drug gangs here, American girls are really "open", The only Russian is Zangief with a gun, Author even made the Brazilian guy play Samba as wedding music... He was really forcing stereotypes down everyone's throat.

Anyway I dropped the novel when we were getting like 5 whole chapters about the process MC mating with harem member N.34. Oh Yeah author has a fetish with Netori, two of potential girls in the real world are already taken.(One is married, the other has a boyfriend. I quit around the chapter MC was mating in secret in front of the boyfriend.)

This novel has every bad cliche I know, even face slapping bs. No creative novels this batch with maybe the "dominating the pugilistic world" one. The rest is all copy and paste of successful genres we have all read a thousand times.

Oh, and here's another one. This one from The Legendary Mechanic. They rated this with one and a half stars.

Story was quite good until 80+ chapters. After that, MC started to develop complex of god and author started to cover loopholes in story.
In this novel was stated that this world is real and MC was believing in it, but, at some point, he started to treat NPC just as XP and after some analyzes, I believe he has quite serious mental issues.
Some readers believe that officers are "arrogant idiot", orders and regulations were incorrect and stuff that MC did is fine. But such readers are looking at situations only from POV of MC, and does not look beyond what author shows them.
If we analyze this novel from POV of real life army and other characters, we can see that MC is very stupid, immature and a psycho.
I love smart MC, and I am fine with him being a psycho, but when you show that some random gamer with average talent is smarter than all officers, government, etc... It is a completely different story...
Basically, in my opinion, author does not understand real life.

Okay, here was a review from Birth of the Demonic Sword, I died from like, the first sentence.

I like a MC that goes around killing people, but he should have a decent reason, in this story The MC kills people on a whim that dind’t do anything to him, moreover he Is completely hypocritical, blaming others for thing he is the first to do.
It would made sense if he was born in a devious place and he can’t distinguish right from wrong, but he had a loving mother and teacher, and he was already an *** when he came in this world. He knows perfectly right from wrong, he simply is just a shallow character that only cares about power and goes around killing people on a whim.
And he is so cliché, he’s like the villain of too many stories, the baddies that what more power because he want’s more power and is evil because he’s evil without and proper reason.
I hope that everybody knows that power, as much as money, it’s just a means, not the final aim, and reading about a MC that wants power without any other aim it’s quite boring. And again I would like and accept if there was a psychological growth, but fro. The beginning to the end he is the same.

Jokes aside, thanks for replying, I genuinely wanted to know. Like I said at the beginning of this discussion, I'm a pretty chill person, and I don't like to cause any type of drama. For this discussion, I wanted it to be light hearted,and if some of the reviews you see in this discussion were offensive in anyway, I apologize since I was the one who created this discussion in the first place. I can see how that particular review could be offensive, at least the part where the person who made the review was saying how everyone else who enjoyed the novel was also a (fill in the blank), but when the person was talking about the MC it was funny to me. Even if a person commented on the MC of an author's novel, is that considered offensive?

*In a typical Chinese cultivation light novel, the main character start from the lowest strength only to rise above all.
For this miraculous outcome the MC has the help of something that is a complete cheat for cultivating.
The MC along the way encounter bad guys, selfish idiots who think they are better than the rest and attack and try to humiliate other just because why not. Trashes.
The MC will punish those selfish idiots by attacking and trying to humiliate them because he think he is better than them and because he have the excuses that they were the one who started it.
The MC is a freaking psychopath that can murder those who offend him just like that.
The other characters that exist are the good guys, that are meant to witness the power of the MC and give him opportunity to get violent with the excuse of protecting the weak against the bad guys.
side characters, good or bad, don't need deep personality the just need to trigger the events and thus are shallow.
The women are especially shallow thanks to sexist culture. They are just their to fall in love and be sexual trophy.
The plots are usually rushed and full of holes.

So where is World Domination System among the mass of Chinese cultivation novels?
Woman: So far almost no girls in sight. no sexism aside from the fact that all the key spots are hold by men.
The MC is not a murderous psychopath. But only because he think he is not powerful enough yet to kill those who offend him. so psychopath is yes.
are the side characters only divided with good one and bad one just for the sake of having the MC get violent? Yes, the bad guys will get offended over nothing and the good one are way to kind to be realistic. It's all white or all black. The characters are very shallow. The story don't really care about character building to the point that the one and only friend of the MC is a character that we don't see interacting with the MC. He is just mentionned here and there, and of course he will get bullied by bad guys. So his job is to be a token that trigger the MC's revenge. He don't need to talk or think. the story is only focus on the growth of the MC and him kicking asses.

Finally the cultivation cheat
Yep it's there of course. it will allow the MC to get strong in everything. strong body, magician, magic craftsman, etc...
The originality is his cheat pushing the MC toward world conquest.
it should be something that bring an abnormally high deepness to the intrigue and plots.
But no as expected of a typical Chinese cultivation random story, this become disappointing as well. Let me spoil the first financial success of the MC as an example:
to cultivate energy is required, bloc of ether can release useful energy and thus are pricey. Alas mosquitoes are eating the blocs of ether.
In order to protect the warehouse from mosquitoes, the usual method is... to erect expensive magical barriers that only last a few month then must be replaced.
The MC find a way to bait and trap mosquitoes, protecting the warehouse at a cheaper cost and thus making tons of money.
Flaw one: why stopping simple mosquitoes with expansive military grade magical barrier when you can just build air-proof warehouse and store the bloc of ether in pouches airtight shut? it's just normal weak mosquitoes... it's like killing flies with a rocket launcher.
Flaw two: the MC doesn't test his invention over the two month it is supposed to be effective. The effectiveness of his traps might decrease over time for unknown reasons and it can all backfire in his face.
Flaw three: the MC sell his product at a given price and receive the entire sum of money as benefit... what about the price for opening his store, what about paying salaries to the manager, etc.. The kingdom is supposed to have heavy taxes policy that cause turmoil and anger among the citizens, yet the MC don't pay any taxes?

The plots are rushed and only what allow the MC to be a righteous violent psychopath is relevant for the author.

So yeah... Overall another typical cheap cultivation story here that just copy past all the cliché except for sexy women as trophies.* - pipMcDohl
