I wouldn't listen to anything CKTalon has said about original works, He has said many things in the past that has defaulted on him. Heres what you can expect with original works. You will have to sign a contract that says if you don't meet a certain quota then your novel will get bopped and you will probably have to pay a fine. Also, there probably won't even be an original novel that goes premium this year. Webnovel basically doesn't even have to acknowledge original creators because their audience is extremely small. If someone does actually get premium on their original novel then you won't be expecting much money, probably a fixed amount like $5 per chapter or something. All of the original creators are wasting their time and creativeness at this point and Qidian is just laughing at you from the side. Yikes.

Every big game has a subreddit like league of legends or dota or csgo, there is even a subreddit called noveltranslations that posts every time a new chapter comes out. Can qidian make something like this? I think it would be easier to follow than the updates on the frontpage because it would allow more space

Premium is a total joke and for the fans that have been here since the beginning its a total face slap but I am here today to show you how this disgusting system works and how the Qidian overlords want you to think how it works.

So let me show you how this scam works. Every novel has a certain amount of releases every week which you can find near the novel title page.
Here is example one, Library of Heavens Path which is arguably one of the most popular novels on the site.

As you can see, it is currently releasing 17 FREE chapters per week and yes those ARE free chapters which was stated by starvecleric himself AND QIDIAN, but oddly enough when I went back to look at his translator thought which was posted on 3/05/18 it was deleted. Looks like hes trying to cover something up.

Now lets see the real numbers, this picture is from novelupdates.com and it shows what date chapters go free and it never shows premium chapters, from this we can find out how many free chapters a week we are REALLY getting

Wow, would you look at that, we are getting one chapter a DAY when we should be getting 2.4 chapters a day. This is all of course Qidian's master plan. If they restrict access on free chapters then the premium chapters will start piling up and if you look at Release that Witch you will find that exact same scenario. Release that Witch says that it is releasing 16 chapters per week but if you look at novelupdates here is a link https://www.novelupdates.com/series/release-that-witch/ you will see that it is just about one chapter per day.

Here are some more thoughts on premium novels. It cuts off communication between the translator and the audience, because if the translator wants to say something then they will say it in the newest chapter but since ~ 20 chapters are premium right now then only the pigs and whales will be able to see the message. Another thing is that premium chapters never stop until the novel stops. That being said if you like supporting a novel until its end then I should share some numbers with you. Right now Library of Heaven's Path premium chapters are about 12-13 spirit stones per so lets just say every chapter is 12.5. Right now Library of Heaven's Path RAWs are at chapter 1089 as I am writing this and the story could and probably will go beyond 2,000 chapters easily. So that means that if you want to stay up-to-date and finish the story with premium chapters alone then it will cost approximately 5,000 spirit stones ($~88 USD) to get to chapter 1089. If it goes to chapter 2,000 then it will cost 17,250 spirit stones ($269 USD). Which is absolutely absurd. Qidian doesn't want to you to realize how much money it will actually cost because you are only seeing it in 10 cents every time you use those spirit stones but it absolutely adds up over time. And remember this is only for one story, if you want to support multiple stories then all I can say is good luck to your wallet.
