Yea it looks like Advent of the Archmage is gonna be a harem. Link just got his second girl. I’m honestly disappointed. Link was my ideal mc but now he got a harem which is usually enough to never even try a novel for me. I never liked the genre. For those who like it, have at it. Everyone’s entitled to their own preference. It’s just not my cup of tea. But I’ll still be reading this story bc it’s still one of the best webnovels I’ve ever read.

caffeinefocus NOPE. Scratch my previous reply. The ending was vague (according to other reviews in both NU and Webnovel) and I'm only at Ch 284. I don't mind promiscuous characters, but HAREM is a no go.

Water0202020 just read nobelvampire’s post and I can now confidently say this is another night ranger. The setting is basically the same with a couple tweaks but even the ending is similar in that it’s rushed. When I spoiled myself NR’s ending I dropped it. And now it seems I’ll have to drop this too. It’s such a pity webnovels so rarely get decent endings. But when it’s all done by one guy in a rush I guess you can’t expect too much. Feeling unsatisfied is just a part and parcel to the experience.

Like, for real. Do they not plan the plot ahead of time - at least an outline - or do they just write until readership drops below a certain threshold and say “whelp! Time to start a new book!”

mahina It could. A story move that long, but the ending only 10 chapters for example. Author might do that. Professional Japanese Mangaka do that for their failed manga.
