Original Author routine
Myriad_ thanks fist bump
Broughtwaorld2 I mean that write everything raw first before editing it to make sure there's little to no error in your chapter.
Myriad_ i am not so sure.....i suck badly in grammar
Broughtwaorld2 I see. write everything in english then before editing it.

Broughtwaorld2 Nope. For example:
A good writer would make something like this: (Taken from The King's Avatar Chapter 1, so no spoiler. Hopefully this long didn't count as pirating.)
Click click, tap tap…
A pair of nimble hands fluttered across the keyboard and mouse, producing rhythmic tapping sounds much like a lively symphony. The screen flashed with bright light and the opponent fell to the ground in a spray of blood.
That is a good 'detailing'. A common writer like this Rabbink would write.
"Click... Click..."
MC pressed the keyboard while moving the mouse. He looked into the monitor, he had managed to defeat his enemy.
The first allowing reader to experience, the second only told the reader about what happened. See the words counts. That is the PRO trick. Readers love the first type. I still practiced to move my writing from the second into the one.
Cheap trick is Poem (we can use old song), Passersby, etc.
Another example is from female novel. (Full Marks Hidden Marriage: Pick Up a Son, Get a Free Husband).
"Hey, wake up… the air conditioning is cold here. Don’t sleep or you’ll catch a cold —"
The weight on her shoulder woke Ning Xi, her eyes opening disorientedly to see the nurse standing before her. She felt slightly embarrassed and her small face blushed red; she could not avoid the nurse’s gaze.
Normal writer would tell
"Hey, wake up!" A nurse woke Ning Xi and made her embarrassed.
I can't find the same quality in LoHP Chapter 1. The writer hadn't gone the transformation on Chapter 1. LoHP best quality isn't the writing style. But its story and character, a story about a Teacher with Comedy.
I've only written 12 chapters so far. Around 30,000 words total. It takes me about 5 hours to write and edit a 2500 word chapter.
Based on your schedule I don't think you can write that much. You might be able to write shorter chapters? Some novels only have 500 words a chapter and publish two or three chapters a day. If you're really patient I guess you could stop publishing, then stockpile a ton of chapters and publish 1 each day. It'd probably be a bad idea though since you already have 27 chapters published.
Do you have a word app on your phone? I've heard a lot of authors in China write their novels completely on their phone. You might be able to work on it on your phone between classes or when it's slow at work.
SnoozySloth It is easier for Chinese author to write on the phone. Their Hanzi is easier on the phone, you can write using your hand.
500 words chapter is also bad. Readers won't have enough they thought you didn't write anything. 1.000 is the minimum. 2.500 is the maximum. Sometimes, when necessary 3.500 is very long.
If too long, you will face this Rabbink's readers problem. Early readers of my chapter felt confused with the idea. There were huge ton of information added. 1.500 is the magic number. Reader had enough and still made the novel bite sized. Imagine my readers binge read 3.500~4.500 chapters and they took 20 chapters (that would equal to 40~60 common chapters). Some would surrender at that, while the other complained at information overload.
MasterRabbink grandpa I know how to write such long chapter without make reader feel bored
Hmm. I think I'd have a hard time going down to 1500. My chapters always seem to naturally reach between 2200 and 3000 words. Average 2500.
I only read a couple chapters before dropping it because it isn't a genre I like but here is an example of a successful short-chapter novel. It seems to have 500-1000 words per chapter. https://www.webnovel.com/book/11489429005404205/Ultimate-Sex-System
MasterRabbink i think i understand now...thanks for enlightening me master
SnoozySloth that's not a bad idea.....but isn't it hard to type so much on mobile phone?
Broughtwaorld2 I assume you sleep at 11pm and wake at 8 am, that quite a lot time to sleep
I usually write on my leisure time, after morning pray, 4-5 am or before sleep 11 pm are my usual writing time.
SweetsTomato i love sleep do i have to reduce it ..
i can try but its hard for me....i mean 'hell mode' hard ..thank you for the suggestion though
Broughtwaorld2 I also like to sleep, but before my eyes really closed my brain still can thinking about what I should write in the next chapter.
After wake up I just need to write that
SweetsTomato alright my good sir
Probably, but it's better than nothing? Maybe just write rough drafts on your phone if you have spare time. Don't worry about grammar much and just get the frame built. Then clean it up on a computer later on.
MasterRabbink Yo, lol I was casually reading the forums and suddenly found mine thrown in.....haha glad i am known by the honorable master! And only my second novel that won the prompt 15 days back is contracted....the other one is 45 days old but not that popular. Still, I love the genre so I im continueing to write chaps for it cos i have the whole story planned out :D.
As for me, i startedoff with writing 500-800 words, which made many readers go insane. I then increased my count from 1000 to 1200 now(on my contracted novel), which stops people from throwing tomatos at me . Basically, find what is comfortable for you and go with it. As for time, its the whole struggle. You gotta figure it out. Try voice typing, and then editing later
SnoozySloth That kind of story is hard to make long. I have been trying but found it is hard to describe. Gwahahaha.
