From the Phils, for those w/ good passport, it just takes 4 days to process visa. The only additional req is a proof of financial capability to support travel to China, but you're gonna get that covered, if ever right?

Nice one. In my country (Croatia) it takes about a week to get a visa to China and costs from 30 to 100 dollars, depending on the time you want to wait and the type of visa.
I'm going to be a little more specific :
First you need to fill up the form http://www.chinaembassy.org.ro/rom/lsfw/qz/P020170417815072671935.pdf .
Since it should be a turism visa, with the form, passport plane ticket reservation , hotel reservation and maybe an invite (it says "or" on the embassy website) which shold contain the information about the solicitant(name, sex date of birth) , information about the trip(arrival and departure, places to visit) also information about the person or insitution (name, phone number, address, official stamp) go the the embassy at Bucuresti, Sos.Nordului nr.2, Sector 1, 014 101. You will get a bill amounting to 240 RON or 52 Euro, It will have to be paid to a bank specified on the bill on the day you receive the documents back. It will take 5 days normal, 2 days urgent for a 90 RON additional fee or 1 day superurgent for a 120 RON additional fee. The embassies program with the public is from monday to friday from 9 to 11:30.

I couldn't find good info but there are 26 countries that doesn't have to apply for visa if the travelgroup is minimum of 5 persons.
