I took the opposite approach. My MC in Uniform System began making plans to use knowledge from Earth to wreck havoc on the new world he found himself in. Then he realized he's an idiot that doesn't know anything of practical value from Earth! lol.
Original Novel Authors Suggestion
SnoozySloth Haha, I do like these dumb MC novels, as long as the novel doesn't take itself seriously.
Though when that's not case, I prefer them to be smart, or at least normal.
Fuck system, transmigration, cultivation and naruto. All your novel needs is academy and mechs.
Skully_
Good thing my 2nd novel has mechs o.O

Skully_ My novel has academy later in the story. :P
Wait until my MC went into immortal/Divine realm. He would also met mecha. Academy is soon *aka 1 year maybe. Gwahahaha.

My divine mecha shall pierce the heavens!
Many Xianxia, Wuxia and Xuanhua have a clear escapism / self- insertion aspect. Transmigration is an easy way to create a viewpoint character which readers can empathize with.
Transmigration also allows for a gradual unfolding of the new world as different concepts are introduced. This sort of unfolding would be available to most natives of that world, since such natives will already have an understanding of their birth environment.

I saw that thread. I argued in it too lol. It's a bit of a dumb argument to be honest. It expands the scope too much of what is original vs isn't. You could infinitely expand the scope to where everything is just a copy from a rock.
Hey guys, my novel has this cool mech that shoots fire.
It's just rocks dude! Come up with something new and original!
What, how is it rocks?!
Cavemen found rocks. Make rocks into statue. Melt rocks into metal. Your mech is just a metal statue. It is rocks. We want something new!
Okay... How about a world where everything is made of paper...?
Lame!!! A paper world is just a rip-off of paper mario, which was made on a console, which was made from metal, which was made from rocks!
Should we make this a new game? Someone present an idea and we will try to explain it as being a rip-off of rocks! lol
SnoozySloth how about atoms a story about atoms
The most original story in my opinion is the one made by Orson Wells.
It made when human enter the age of space exploration
If the story on human psychology, I say the story of Dorian Gray is the most unique at that time

Atoms are just really tiny rocks. Some even tinier rocks (I call them rockticles) swirl around the nucleus (Or center-rock, as experts call it). These tiny rocks are the building blocks for all bigger rocks such as rocks, rocks, or rocks. When the rocks get big enough they form a planet (A massive rock!). Just like the atom rock the planet rock swirlds around a hot-center rock (some nonbelievers call it the sun). These planet rocks that hover around a hot-center rock are really just a big atom rock. It goes further. Many big atom rocks swirl around a blackhole (super dense rock) to form a huge galaxy-rock! (We just call those huge rocks!) All the huge rocks floating together are called the universe-rock

Isn't there a story about atom?
Ant man is atom sized hero.
However, there is a real atom story. Sorry but not original enough.
I hate how authors keep having characters and plots in their stories. Only stories without characters and plots are original enough for me to read.

LawCol sigh... That is hard.
Once upon a time in a far away galaxy.
A tree spread its branches covered the blue sky and birds with long red tail singing heavenly song. Beautiful jade beauties danced on the paradise. You are died.
The end.
Full description. No character. No plot. No conflict. Paradise.
You won't find an 'original' novel here...
The 'system' trend makes things much easier, although, I've only found 1 really good system novels. The others started good but became horrible soon after(The Strongest System, Ultimate Scheming System, etc)
Just do some research or whatever if you want to find a fresh novel that you would enjoy.
SnoozySloth oh, I saw that discussion, I think it was about separating the fanfics from the originals right?
True, system novels are pretty popular.
