There is a very good novel involving a transmigrator with a System. It is called The Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich. The story is amazing. It definitely does not feel like a generic story at all. Just read the first chapter and you will see how great it is.

KrauzerII I know what you mean. I love reading but too many of them are about systems or cultivation. I get lots in the cultivation and tried many times to try new novels but I can't seem to find one that I can read religiously. I tend to have them in my library and go back every once in a while.

People love system novels. Can't be helped lol. Transmigrating is a very convenient tool in writing. It makes it easier to describe things since you can just say oh, it looks like a car! It's as big as a truck. It gets abused a bit to be honest.

I agree that being reincarnated should affect the story in some way. Like the knowledge from past life being useful in certain situations, the MC having to adapt to this new world, or even the author giving a basic reason for the medieval stasis, as most transmigrations are to a medieval world.
My novel, Duality, isn't a system novel, but it has transmigration/cultivation.
MC was a soldier then a spy in his past life, and these experiences will have an effect further down the story.

I took the opposite approach. My MC in Uniform System began making plans to use knowledge from Earth to wreck havoc on the new world he found himself in. Then he realized he's an idiot that doesn't know anything of practical value from Earth! lol.

Many Xianxia, Wuxia and Xuanhua have a clear escapism / self- insertion aspect. Transmigration is an easy way to create a viewpoint character which readers can empathize with.
Transmigration also allows for a gradual unfolding of the new world as different concepts are introduced. This sort of unfolding would be available to most natives of that world, since such natives will already have an understanding of their birth environment.

I saw that thread. I argued in it too lol. It's a bit of a dumb argument to be honest. It expands the scope too much of what is original vs isn't. You could infinitely expand the scope to where everything is just a copy from a rock.
