Mysword Satan can't be killed. It always exist until the end of the world, tempting human kind to follow its path and become hell resident
All we can do is banish it to the place it belongs
Can anyone write a novel like this?
Mysword Western Mythology can and possible. For example, I am looking to add more story mythology from around the world to my story.
However, Religions is forbidden topic. Novel might get removed. No benefit at all to incorporate it. As Sloth had said. It might get you killed.

Novel might get removed? Are there any unspoken rules/conditions I should be aware of? Just in case
FleetingClouds If you make hate speech/hurt a real life group/identity. So if you want to make a religion, make a fake one. For example like in RTW.
I am by far no expert in mythology, but whenever someone throws around some mythologic names/tales and uses them completely wrong, I am more likely to get annoyed than entertained... Obviously there are exceptions, a good author could make stuff like this funny, by incorporating clever misunderstandings, which don't revolve around dense-ness and slapstick...
But I believe the people most likely to enjoy those kind of stories are only those that don't know anything about those specific myths, except maybe the name.

That's why I named one of my characters after Jake from state farm. Best to play it safe.
SweetsTomato You know, nothing is impossible in cultivation novel,we can kill everything with a glance in the end(ノ>▽<。)ノ
SnoozySloth Thanking you very much!
Mysword in novel that would written with a flick of the finger
JohnnyKbca I'd be glad to take a shot.
Mysword Not really many people might see this as offensive and beside of everything that was mentioned before I think that you should not write things that may offend a big group of people or someone personally.

It's impossible to write without offending some people. However, religion is one of those sensitive topics that can REALLY offend the wrong people quickly.
SnoozySloth Of course but you can avoid topics that you know will offend someone.
Res_Publica
Perhaps, but their is also a limit you must push (at least for comedic novels). I'd say the only topics I avoid when writing are probably real world religions and politics. Just about everything else is open game whether I offend people or not. =)
SnoozySloth I would say that making fun out off politics is safe as long as you ar not lathing at certain world-vies. It is quite obvious that when you started to mocking people who are against abortion cos they are backward or people who are for LGBT equality cos they are creeps they will see you as an agresor and would start to defend themselves. But if you are laughing at party A and party B equally with out picking a side I think you should be okey.
As for religious themes the things that annoys me are:
For first historical ignorance and portraying some religion and adding traits of the others religions to them. The finest example would be medieval Church burning witches on the stakes when for real "witches" were prosecuted after the medieval period in protestant countries.
And secondly cowardice of some authors who add disclaimer that "any resemblance to real live religion is coincidental" when you can clearly see that they are based on certain religion (most of the time Catholicism for any "Church" and Islam for religious extremism)

Hmm. I still feel it's best to avoid politics. Especially US politics. It's a hate festival between the two main sides these days. Best to just avoid it altogether.
That sounds like a really weird concept I could endorse. I have my hands full with Shin Megami Tensei video games with God, Lucifer, demons, angels and levels (Which is sort of like cultivation).
