Hey I wrote a book 2 months ago but its not picking up and I don't really use social media so sharing is not gonna work. Anyone have advice for me?? Also if you could read my book and give me a review? Am I on the right track? I've only wrote 3 pages so far.
SUPERFAIL my book. my hero academy
DragonKnight531 Honestly if itβs not picking up in 2 months then you should re write it. Thatβs the least you could do. I had a book up for a month and realised I did horrible so I removed it and thinking of adding another one soon
elliptic that's some great advice!! Thank you!
elliptic but how do people get there book noticed??
DragonKnight531 The million dollar question, friend

DragonKnight531 you can ask for pointers and reviews in the inkstone server at discord. although i have never tried doing so, i'm sure it will work. there are a lot of editors in the gc and i'm assuring you, thay are helpful although sometimes weird.
WinterBud cheers mate
Reinesse i guess I'll have to find out how weird they are I appreciate you! Cheers~
DragonKnight531 Hey! Sorry it's late. I gave your novel a review. :)
DazzlingGem yeah I needed that, appreciate the help.
DragonKnight531 Phew~ Done editing but I didn't delete your errors, just corrected them. Anyway, I attached the link below. Let me know if you can't access the link. If so, let me know how to give you access or where else can I send it.
DragonKnight531 That's pretty easy, really- Patience, skill, and luck.
Patience and skill you can control with your actions and mindset. Luck you can't control. But having lots of patience and a ton of skill will mean you won't need much luck to succeed, whereas all the luck in the world won't help an unskilled and impatient writer succeed.
Focus on your craft, not the attention. If you put out shitty writing hoping for attention, you probably won't get it, and if you do, it won't be the attention you want.
Write good stuff, have the patience to wait as long as it takes to succeed, and be willing to put in a huge amount of effort building into the community, and you're pretty much guaranteed some degree of success.
There is no short or easy path to winning.
DragonKnight531 You've written 3 pages in 2 months and you're upset its not super popular or getting a ton of attention? I mean, I'm a pretty slow writer by this site's standards, and I put out a couple pages a DAY. =P
You've gotta write a LOT. You've gotta edit a LOT. You have to CONSTANTLY be trying to improve your craft through reading, studying other styles, and implementing feedback in a serious and structured manner.
And you have to make peace with the fact that you've gotta be really good to catch people's attention when surrounded by so many other talented people.
Success isn't just gonna fall into your lap because you quite literally put in the bare minimum possible effort =P
Forsaken1 You mean edit?! But you already have Clowniac to do that!
And I believe he's better than me.
I can give a review but it might take time. It took me days with just one chapter of Dragonknight531's.
DazzlingGem And I believe he's better than me.
pfft. Probably not.
Clowniac But you are! I've seen your posts here and your edit of Forsaken1's, uh, was that his first chapter? Anyway, that thread he made. Comparing it to what I did with DragonKnight531's was like, uh, I can't think of anything. Just that yours was better!
