Do you think it is possible for cultivators to exist in real life?
I think it exist, it just different with from what we read on novels. I believe it must be the cultivation of mind. Like reaching the point where you don't tied with wordly desire.

Its' gotten to the point where cultivators like me are scared, however some athletes are low level cultivators.
It's but most people consider them wastes. People with no drive.
I mean guns are everywhere, and its not like in the novels were people have sword Q and stuff.
its more like we just live far longer, but only really around 300 years, or so I have heard of a few cases saying 500 years.
Don't worry if you want to become a fighter, or something like that your fine.

No. The material world is all that exists. People are limited by the inherent bounds of physics, chemistry, and biology, and as a result self-actualization is nothing more than a refining and streamlining of chemical processes that produce the emergent phenomena we experience as consciousness.
Meditation is the deliberate stimulation and inhibition of various neurochemical processes in the brain that result in various state-changes in consciousness. Repeat this habit frequently enough, and it will be adopted by the biology of your body as the new default setting, which can result in a different set of biological results such as greater focus, creativity, energy, etc. But, this only happens within those same set limitations I mentioned previously.
That's all. There are no magical powers you can get by meditating enough. You cannot "ascend". You are still the same flawed human self you've always been. You just happen to be a slightly better person.
And in case you're wondering, I say this as someone who actively practices old-school ceremonial magick and mediates for an hour or more each day. It's all just self-improvement ritual meant to speak to the sub-conscious. Nothing more.
Clowniac You are wrong because then the ability to create life would be easy. I believe in the non-matter world. I wish that an apocalyptic surge would arrive and invoke true human potential. Because a dolphin that can access more brain power than man has unique abilities, what could we evolve into if given access. To control 100% of our brain. To grow our body to be worthy of the power. And i think why we dont even have a single cultivator today is because if everyone become strong, the world will get chaotic everywhere you will see fightings killings just to get some precious treasure to cultivate. Hays if i will given a chance to cultivate and become immortal and given a chance to have superpower i will travel the universe or watch the whole world peacefully.
Maybe those genius cultivator in the past is already numb to chaotic fighting for power so they just burn all the files about cultivation.

It is possible through training to improve the skills of community, understanding of people, this is achieved by methods - special psychology. You can find out how and how they live by the signs of people, their behavior, conversation, folds in their arms, legs.
By studying Zen practice - you can learn to hear, see, perceive the world better by 30-40-60 percent more than an ordinary person.
Studying Chan Buddhism, breathing exercises, gypsies, wushu, martial arts, aikido, karate, find out how much stronger a person can become, not only in terms of muscles, but also mental strength.
By studying the integral yoga and methods of Cardos Castaneda, you can learn to control the subconscious.
But a person cannot fly on a sword. He will not be able to consume energy from jade.
By studying Tibetan, Persian, Indian folk medicine, you can find out how various medicinal plants, roots, fruits, berries, and cooked foods affect a person. How their interaction changes properties sometimes they become poison and sometimes medicine.
By studying acupuncture, you can better understand how certain points of a person work, in singing nerve endings to activate certain zones.
That is, from the point of view of cultivation, increasing human capabilities, expanding them like muscles, the ability to use fist fighting techniques, have a strong will, a strong spirit, be able to understand people, and manipulate them. Though this old one isn't very knowledgeable, the few fragments I have been able to piece together about the truth of our world, I shall share with you.
In essence, what is a cultivator? Someone strong? Someone who masters an art? Someone beyond human bounds? Someone deity like? Or maybe someone bound for greatness on a treacherous journey? Though close, a cultivator are those who seek the higher plane. The world above ours so to say.
In what we call earth there are restrictions to what the human body is capable of, placed there by those who envy our innate ability to grow exponentially with no borders. Eons ago, humans stood toe to toe with the gods, demonic beasts, and all creatures of myth. Yet, when we were at our greatest, the pillar of humanity tumbled. One by one, the powerful and influential individuals who guided and protected our way of living soon vanished. Some records speak of a powerful existence completely new to earth, landing and causing havoc everywhere. It took every powerful cultivator in all realms, gods, demonic beasts, humans, and mythical creatures to subdue it.
With the powerful gone, the world entered an age of endless war. each fighting for superiority, the fragile balance between the realms broken. As there is not much about this time period, I have chosen to name it Era of Discord. It was then, during that period of chaos and death, that the light came to reveal the origins of the aberrant freak of a creature. Humans, with their unquenchable thirst for knowledge and understanding of the world and all it secrets, sent out a powerful signal to reach even the furthest tips of space. The creature in turn responded and came upon earth.
Furious and scared, all the realms agreed to a mutual pact, to seal each realm off from the other and, unbeknownst to the humans, to seal the power of humans. Having no precedent on the matter, the ritual to seal off the human's ability to cultivate was incomplete.
At first there was only drastic decrease in cultivators but slowly, the techniques and teachings were lost to history. Fading from the books as our age of prosperity, I have named it the Forgotten Era. Now, there is very little interactions of the realms in our modern day era. Sure, records show that there were some cases in the past. Joan of Arc, Oda Nobunaga, Jack the Ripper, Cleopatra, Julius Caeser, etc in which humans and the other realms interacted but, there wasn't a lot. One noteworthy individual though was Albert Einstein. On the brink of touching the signal used to call the abnormal creature, the other realms interfered and gave him an untimely death.
In the modern day, the way of cultivation has become lost, only the most ordinary techniques surviving. Yet, the seal on humans remain incomplete. There are some who are able to surpass our common understanding of human ability and barely scrape into the domain of cultivation but, it is not impossible! Take the elders on the forums as an example, though hidden and sometimes lurkers, each has a profound essence of cultivation.
Now, I shall return to lurking. You may choose to ignore or heed my words, it makes no difference in the flow of our world. Eventually the signal shall be touched once again, the creatures shall return, and we shall once again experience our Era of Discord, the only thing that matters is, will you be prepared?

Yuyumamoru That really sounds like a description for a web novel it was very fun to read though. Intresting story of how humanity was at the beginning. Would be awesome if it were real and even greater if some cultivation manuels was suddenly found but that is just wishful thinking.

I feel that the world is empty I feel no connection and very little emotion with everything I have encountered so far (I have been through many troubles despite my age and I may get emotional for a moment but it leaves quickly). This is the reason I watch anime/read novels it is the only thing that provides me with a familiar happiness.
I think in ancient times there were practice ing martial arts they boby would be strong as steel and they could even crush boulders
I am sure that cultivation in the modern world is possible:
- sleep management (Carlos Castaneda)
- breath control (Qigong)
- the exit of the mental entity and its journey (Sri Arubindo Ghosh "Integral Yoga")
- the formation of a magical look - Zen practice and Chan Buddhism (only philosophy and practice)
If you are a good person, you can cultivate your spirit, it can become stronger, I am doing good things, helping the weak, sick, and weak. Stop being greedy, follow the path of enlightenment.
There are many methods and practices in the world that can cultivate muscle strength and spiritual strength, psychological strength.
Probably these techniques are used in rapid reaction forces and special forces.

In reality, yes, there are cultivators, even at the present times, cultivation manuals disappeared in the public due to some rules set by ancient times, as what you said, The Era of Discord, it actually happened. Earth was once the most prominent realm in the universe, we are the center of prominence and we hold the power to rule all of the existence, the milky way was called Heavey Prayers of Existence, the Mercury Venus Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus is its vassal state, but something happen, Era of Discord i wont elaborate, but in the history books of the records of the old, it says that the universe was engulfed in a all out war between races, be it the gods or the demons, they all fought for something that will lead them to higher realms though i say earth was the master of the universe at that time, unknown to the people, there existed a realm much higher than we do have, this realm was called by the people Tabulan Realm* fast forward, the earth was sealed from its former glory and all of the universe was sealed or destroyed, tho the scientific community saya that the universe is expanding, the truth is that the universe is repairing its lost prestige. And wanted a comeback.
The good news is, some of the old ancestor from that time and era is still alive, tho hibernating and repairing their spiritual bodies.
Like why cultivation manuals resources was sealed? It is to make the earth ready for the comeback, with the old and knowledgeable gone, who will make good use of the resources.
Theres still cultivators? Yes, though if it is scaled in a 100 million there is only 5-10, depending on a country, this few people are direct lineages from the past, and if u somewhat stumbled upon a manual or eat some fruit (u know what i mean) u better hide it till u have great power.
Additional: there is also weak cultivators who aren't part of the originala *direct lineages, but they're the weakest of the weak, dont feel almighty if u somewhat become powerful. Those direct lineages are deep hidden, not even those weakass cultivators knows of their existence, much less the government.

Yes, but those of the direct lineages, nope.

Fear not for your identity, as we are all the descendants of the survivors. Though the Era of Discord has passed we must stay vigilant. Thousands of years of cultivation does not matter in the face of history. We must not let our past repeat for I fear, the last pieces of our former glory be forever lost in the vastness of space and time, and us with it.

They exist.. but differently.. well I might as well reveal some.. you know shaolin monks? it's a type of cultivation. That's all I am gonna say.

Yuyumamoru worry not, i already initiated the restart of the old ways, and where already in phase 6 out of 15, the planet will undergo vast changes in these coming phases especially phase 7, my identity as a mundane being will not be threatened, tho i am not using most of my powers, but i guarantee you, even a thermal nuclear missile won't t do me any harm.
This actions of mine is of contrary to these direct lineages, i grew tired of boredom and it is part of a will i promised to that man.

Pleasedeteme Through your Lordship's teaching, I have received enlightenment. After scanning Buddha's Four Noble Truths and the Three Universal Truths. Though small, I've come to look at the world slightly different. To love oneself is harder than to love another but it may be what I was lacking.
I will not say that the world is no longer dull or numb but, there are at least the pale colors of my own path. Though murky and unsteady, I have started to climb out of my rut and experience something I could call 'life'. Whether it be the small joys of the sun, the smell of fresh rain, or the little moments of bliss, I have learned to accept and cherish. Though the my path is still unclear, I thank the Lordship for being a definitive marker along the way.
It may be that, even these fleeting moments of ours right now will be forgotten in the passing of time but nevertheless, they were valuable.

Yuyumamoru Look mortal... Lao Tzu is another example... he sat down on a table with Buddah and another dude. They we're offered the juice of life. Buddah said why would he drink something he wanted to escape so badly? it causes suffering.
The other guy tried a bit and said Buddah was right.
Lao Tzu took the bottle and drunk in one whole gulp. He became drunk and started dancing like a mad man. After he finished he sat down peacefully.

Yes to OP. But, not in the sense of these silly novels. One must understand that there is tons of radiation on Earth. While this is toxic for normal humans, one out of every million or so has obtained a different type of DNA. While it is risky even for them, their cells can harvest the energy of these toxic substances. Which allows for their bodies to be exposed for a longer amount of time. Now the scary part about radiation is that it can change DNA. And, it's important to note that not all change is bad, most of it is though. But, even amount normal humans, there are cases were being exposed to this helped the human though it is important to note that even in the humans that have had some benefits from random exposure, the overall effects are negative. For example, most of them cannot reproduce.
Cultivators are now learning about how to use radiation to target parts DNA and to unlock the limitless gifts that have been given to us by the genetic loto.
While it is not about overcoming the Heavens, in a way it is about unlocking the heavens.
Acutelittletrap tho technically human dna can be change through scientific engineering, and often if not, they are able to create something that is beneficial, but in majority of these changes are negatives. Tho there are filthy rich individuals researching "Human Genetic Engineering: Through Radiation" 97% die on the spot and the remaning fractions dies later on,. As for the cultivators, yes, some have tried, andl some are still doing it, tho it gives visible changes and visible upgrade to their strength, it is still superficial. But, i'll tell u this, radio active experimentations are not more productive than those fogies experementing on nuclear fission and fusion, i even visited 3 LHC facilities (in secret, just leave it at this forum) they are about to have a breakthrough on the item called Chanelling... If you have sufficient power and money, go buy nuclear silo, go there and research build some damn formation, harness that power.

I grow mango trees, maize plants, cabbages, apple trees and tomatoes! I even have some dairy cows to milk. I don't know about the immortality part, but all my harvest gives me good health and, likewise, a longer lifespan!
